I've booked myself on KUL-PEN sector for Raya Haji. Still cheap compared to driving alone up-north!
-
The question should be.....
How come the meal can be so expensive? I've heard somewhere, cost for MH nasi lemak is up to RM30. Why?
-
20 minutes? Are there really so many people calling them? And I really hate listening to their advertisement! Man, just play a music is good enough...Yes...20 minutes..
"Thank you for calling malaysia airlines....untuk bahasa melayu sila tekan 1, press 2 for english"
-
Calls in the middle of the night are usually picked up quickly. During daytime, almost always go answered. Anyway they should answer within a certain period of time, say 2 minutes, so that their performance can be measured against other callcentres of other organizations in different industries. Otherwise one would think that MH's callcentre is a mediocre one. In fact, by having to wait more than 5 minutes is, in my opinion, already mediocre.2 minutes? I waited for 20 minutes......

So, the funny thing is, me and staff would usually fly AK to these 'kursus', and we would stay at cheaper hotels/rooms so that the saving in cost, we can make up for our company and personal income while our clients, which sometimes are just clerks, office boys or personal assistance would fly MH in economy and stay at 5-star hotels. If their boss travel, i.e. Ketua Jabatan/Ketua Pengarah, well, they often fly Business Class in MH.Something to correct here....
As for the government servants, not all are entitled to fly and stay at so called 5 star hotels. For those under grade 1-26, they are not entitled to fly except to Sabah and Sarawak. Rate for hotels is depending on which grade are you in. The higher you go, the more allocation you will get. However, since the hotel rate has increased, it's hard to get a comfortable place to stay with the current entitlement.
Let me give you guys an example (it is in Malay tho....sori aaaaa):
a. Kadar tuntutan sewa hotel Gred 41/44 ketika menjalankan tugas rasmi:
1. Semenanjung (RM160 semalam) 2. Sabah dan Sarawak (RM170 semalam);
dan elaun makan: 1. Semenanjung (RM45) 2. Sabah dan Sarawak (RM65).
b. Kadar kelayakan pakej kursus Gred 41/44: RM130 (hotel) + RM45 (makan) untuk setiap hari.
source: Perintah Am Bab B (ELAUN ELAUN DALAM PERKHIDMATAN 1974; additional on PEKELILING PERBENDAHARAAN BIL. 3 TAHUN 2003)
Anyway, from my point of view, we the young officers normally don't mind about place to stay. As long as it has a bed and enough food to eat. Since we are dealing with the JUSA level (read : Jawatan Utama Sektor Awam) and fussy @ 'kekwat' senior officials (mind my words), we try to look for the most comfortable place we can get. Not 'bodek'ing, but more to 'menjaga periuk nasi sendiri'.
However, it is your inner side, honesty and integrity that will determine whether you're 'menghabiskan duit kerajaan' or not. So far, here in my workplace, we tend to implement the 'dasar berjimat cermat'. So, all seminars, workshop, meetings are done in-house or the farthest we can go is Melaka (south bound); Ipoh (north bound); and Kuantan (east bound). Why? Because reachable by road. Again, it depends on the management. If the management likes to 'jalan-jalan'....it will be the other way round.
Thanks...just my 'sekupang' (ten cents)

MH of course, I work with the government. So why worry? Free tickets, tonnes of enrich points. Got upgraded to GCC if I fly overseas.
Hmm....for the sake of leisure travel, better find the cheaper option! Either LCC or Full service, price still considered on the top of everything.

Wow interesting, never seen this type of uniform before. Anyone has a picture of it?I think I've seen it sumwhere on the net...but forgot laaa....maybe online news (Berita Harian - looooong time ago)
-
the most elegant for me wud be the uniform for chartered MH flight. i.e Haj Flight. Navy blue pants, navy blue jackets, navy blue tudung with red-piping...cool!
-
Flight? BJE***
Route? KAJANG - KEDAH
Time? Depends on traffic all the way long to KEDAH
Meals? Sendiri bawak...
Hehehe
-
Agreed...no international traffic for an international airport.
Seasonal chartered flight? Maybe true...but scheduled? Naaaa....KBR should be upgraded 1st, however, as long as the green and white flag is sitting on the throne, it will be a no-no....
-
Why the stewardess have the carry on, are they overnight crews? I believe all crews depart and come back home later on, right?Alan, gr8 photos......their uniform looks very nice too!
Even it is not an overnight flight, I believe they have to drag a trolley bag as a prop for them! To prevent their hands from swaying from left to right extremely (Lenggang Mak Limah...).
-
Nice....and the bag looks simple compared to the one dragged before. I believe the former one was MH's trolley bag, minus the garment carrier.
-
got a pix of it already. under Observation hill forum, 32L thread. go take a look.YES! That's the plane! Same location as per seen yesterday.
-
It really ease us a lot! Don't have to find like hell in google earth anymore. Thanks!!!I've tried it, just one question, when was the photo taken from the satellite? No LCCT in KUL...
-
wow... was it park at LCCT or satellite?Between LCCT and Cargo; if I am not mistaken....
-
Yesterday while taxiing after arrival from PEN, I saw an AK A330 parked next to UPS 757. It looks gorgeous in that red color. When will AK commence their long haul segments? The plane has arrived, maybe soon huh?

Yaaa...that's cheap! Given choices between AK and QR on the same route and same price, I'd rather fly QR. Even it is a red eye flight, I don't mind staying up until 0335H in the morning to catch the plane. <_>
-
What is the price like? separate the taxes, please tqMATTA Fair price yesterday, a package deal indeed!
4d3n (4n actually, since the return flight departs at 0335H), travelling on Q class, includes accomodation, the price is about RM1073.
Tax is about RM273, excludes Rp.100,000 tax from DPS.
However, Q class fare is only available for package tour. To buy JUST ticket, QR will book on L class, and the price is about 863 including tax.

Dear all, I've booked myself to DPS in QR, the timetable is as per shown below:
Qatar Airways (QR624) - 18 Oct 07
Dep : 13:00 - Kuala Lumpur (KUL)
Arr : 16:05 - Denpasar Bali (DPS)

and

Dep : 03:35 - Denpasar Bali (DPS)

# A330-202 (272 seat configuration)
# A330-202 (260 seat configuration)
# A330-202 (238 seat configuration)
# A330-202 (228 seat configuration)
Thanks

REVAMP?
keep guessing....737NG? A320? or other type?
By the way, is there any updates on winter schedule?
-
Tanjung Gemok....less ferry, more parking lots...
Mersing...more ferry...more people!
-
One could almost have the road to oneself driving along from Pekan to Rompin. Very scenic and smooth drive.
I agree with this...been doing that. What a beauty! Driving from KL, to Kuantan and proceed to Tanjong Gemok via Pekan. Even the road was a bit scary, but it worth it!

Mine is ENRICH
Now there is a promotion, can redeem as low as 22750 points to get a return tix as far as BOM, DPS, or HYD. Am redeeming myself one....maybe KUL-DPS-KUL. Offer valid for travel before 31st oct

maybe we are so used to the conventional design so we might say this so called 797 is ugly! (i admit it looks ugly)...however when there are lots of there design flying in the future, none of us will care about it anymore.
