  1. 20 minutes? Are there really so many people calling them? And I really hate listening to their advertisement! Man, just play a music is good enough...

    Yes...20 minutes..

"Thank you for calling malaysia airlines....untuk bahasa melayu sila tekan 1, press 2 for english"

  2. Calls in the middle of the night are usually picked up quickly. During daytime, almost always go answered. Anyway they should answer within a certain period of time, say 2 minutes, so that their performance can be measured against other callcentres of other organizations in different industries. Otherwise one would think that MH's callcentre is a mediocre one. In fact, by having to wait more than 5 minutes is, in my opinion, already mediocre.

    2 minutes? I waited for 20 minutes......

  3. So, the funny thing is, me and staff would usually fly AK to these 'kursus', and we would stay at cheaper hotels/rooms so that the saving in cost, we can make up for our company and personal income while our clients, which sometimes are just clerks, office boys or personal assistance would fly MH in economy and stay at 5-star hotels. If their boss travel, i.e. Ketua Jabatan/Ketua Pengarah, well, they often fly Business Class in MH.

    Something to correct here....

As for the government servants, not all are entitled to fly and stay at so called 5 star hotels. For those under grade 1-26, they are not entitled to fly except to Sabah and Sarawak. Rate for hotels is depending on which grade are you in. The higher you go, the more allocation you will get. However, since the hotel rate has increased, it's hard to get a comfortable place to stay with the current entitlement.

Let me give you guys an example (it is in Malay tho....sori aaaaa):

    a. Kadar tuntutan sewa hotel Gred 41/44 ketika menjalankan tugas rasmi:

    1. Semenanjung (RM160 semalam) 2. Sabah dan Sarawak (RM170 semalam);

dan elaun makan: 1. Semenanjung (RM45) 2. Sabah dan Sarawak (RM65).

    b. Kadar kelayakan pakej kursus Gred 41/44: RM130 (hotel) + RM45 (makan) untuk setiap hari.

Anyway, from my point of view, we the young officers normally don't mind about place to stay. As long as it has a bed and enough food to eat. Since we are dealing with the JUSA level (read : Jawatan Utama Sektor Awam) and fussy @ 'kekwat' senior officials (mind my words), we try to look for the most comfortable place we can get. Not 'bodek'ing, but more to 'menjaga periuk nasi sendiri'.

However, it is your inner side, honesty and integrity that will determine whether you're 'menghabiskan duit kerajaan' or not. So far, here in my workplace, we tend to implement the 'dasar berjimat cermat'. So, all seminars, workshop, meetings are done in-house or the farthest we can go is Melaka (south bound); Ipoh (north bound); and Kuantan (east bound). Why? Because reachable by road. Again, it depends on the management. If the management likes to 'jalan-jalan'....it will be the other way round.

    Thanks...just my 'sekupang' (ten cents)

  4. Why the stewardess have the carry on, are they overnight crews? I believe all crews depart and come back home later on, right?

Alan, gr8 photos......their uniform looks very nice too!

Even it is not an overnight flight, I believe they have to drag a trolley bag as a prop for them! To prevent their hands from swaying from left to right extremely (Lenggang Mak Limah...).

  5. As per www.flyqatar.com booking tool for the same flights:

Not bad for two flights on a wide-body aircraft :pardon:

Yaaa...that's cheap! Given choices between AK and QR on the same route and same price, I'd rather fly QR. Even it is a red eye flight, I don't mind staying up until 0335H in the morning to catch the plane. <_>

  6. What is the price like? separate the taxes, please tq

MATTA Fair price yesterday, a package deal indeed!

4d3n (4n actually, since the return flight departs at 0335H), travelling on Q class, includes accomodation, the price is about RM1073.

Tax is about RM273, excludes Rp.100,000 tax from DPS.

However, Q class fare is only available for package tour. To buy JUST ticket, QR will book on L class, and the price is about 863 including tax.

  7. Dear all, I've booked myself to DPS in QR, the timetable is as per shown below:

    Qatar Airways (QR624) - 18 Oct 07

    Dep : 13:00 - Kuala Lumpur (KUL)

    Arr : 16:05 - Denpasar Bali (DPS)

    Equipment : Airbus Industrie A330-200

    and

    Qatar Airways (QR625) - 22 Oct 07

    Dep : 03:35 - Denpasar Bali (DPS)

    Arr : 06:35 - Kuala Lumpur (KUL)

    Equipment : Airbus Industrie A330-200

My question is, since QR has a few A330-200 configuration, which one is used on this route?

    # A330-202 (281 seat configuration)

    # A330-202 (272 seat configuration)

    # A330-202 (260 seat configuration)

    # A330-202 (238 seat configuration)

    # A330-202 (228 seat configuration)

    Thanks
