  1. Mustn't forget - arrive ONTIME.

Arrive in decent shape but late is USELESS

Not arriving at all is USELESS

Being given voucher towards future travel for delays is USELESS

AK is USELESS for business (and goverment) travel

That is why we are asked to plan our journey properly. Remember, the Tonggak 12 outlined by the government for the Public Servant? Try to understand the meaning of it. The way you talk here shows that you don't plan your time properly, and always do last minutes job. I am a government servant too, however, I manage to plan every single itinerary very well.

And sometimes there are limited seats on MH, so AK is the option. It happened to my colleagues last month when we were travelling KUL - TGG, MH seats were fully booked, so they picked AK as the traveling option. They arrived on time, they arrived in one piece, and they performed their duty very well.

So, no point of bashing any airlines here. The more flight, the more option we have to travel.

    About the civil servants traveling on plane, here it is;

PENGGUNAAN SYARIKAT PENERBANGAN SELAIN DARIPADA SISTEM PENERBANGAN MALAYSIA (MAS) UNTUK PENERBANGAN DOMESTIK BAGI TUJUAN BERTUGAS RASMI

    LATAR BELAKANG

  3. I agree with Affendi. I hope with the current political uncertainty, AK will be (somehow) asked to move back to KUL MTB and the Permanent LCCT project is being scrapped all together. Honestly I don't think it is necessary at all. KUL is operating below capacity (of 10 million passengers annually). The authority should come out with a way to increase the passengers' traffic at KUL, so that it could paved the way for the construction of the 2nd Satellite Terminal, in line with the original masterplan.

Skybusses can still operate from KL Sentral to KUL MTB instead of the LCCT. Maybe the whole A and G Gates area can be allocated to AK/FD/QZ/D7's operation while MH is given Gates B and H.

AK argues that by operating at MTB, they can't offer cheap fares because the airport tax in KUL MTB is higher. It is, but does the difference really material? (The difference of airport tax between the 2 terminals are MYR 3 for flights within Malaysia and MYR 26 for international flights). If FD can operate in BKK, why can't AK operate in KUL MTB?

(I don't take into account the office rental rates, gate fees, apron fees (?) and any other charges that may differ between the MTB and LCCT)

AK always accused that MH received some form of subsidies from the government. Can the government gives subsidy to AK, in terms of a rebate or something, as an incentive to move out its operation from LCCT to MTB? MAHB always give incentive to foreign airlines, why can't they extend some to AK?

    You're right Azizul.

Why we have to follow TF? They want KUL-SIN, granted. They want LCC, granted. What else do they want? I'm very sure, by making AK fly from MTB, KUL will definitely turn into a happening place.

    oh ya....

if BKI can make AK HAVE TO OPERATE FROM TERMINAL 1, why KUL can't?

    I just don't understand.

  4. He did say "Red" belongs to Airasia -on TV, on the news. I saw and heard him say that.

Btw, the red on the "new" C 734 seat-fabric seems to be a brighter red than AK's.

I agreed with mushrif, he did mention it on tv. RED BELONGS TO US....not to LCC.

I wish i can get MMQ for my KUL-LGK-KUL next week.

MAS to be asked to resume flights to Cairo

    By ZULKIFLI ABD RAHMAN

CAIRO: Malaysia Airlines (MAS) will be asked to resume its Kuala Lumpur-Cairo route after its flight was cancelled in 2006 due to financial constraints.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said MAS could re-open the route following its financial recovery recently.

“I will ask the MAS management to resume this route now that its financial position has improved.

“At the same time, MAS can offer affordable pricing strategies, such as introducing special prices to students,” he said at a question-and-answer session during a dinner here with Malaysian students on Sunday.

His visit was in conjunction with his participation in the World Economic Forum on the Middle East, which is being held in Sharm El-Sheikh.

The KL-Cairo route was among those reviewed and suspended when MAS announced its three-year turnaround plan early 2006.

The national carrier has a code-share agreement with Gulf Air to provide more connectivity between KL and Cairo through Bahrain and Muscat.

Other destinations considered unprofitable by MAS were Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Xian, Chengdu, Fukuoka, Vienna, Zurich and Manchester.

It was reported that the MAS turnaround was aimed at nursing its financial health.

Last year it made RM610mil in profit from RM1.3bil losses in 2006.

Don't you just love politics? "Maybe it'll work this time...now that you have cash in hand..."

Re-opening routes? Whats next? Zurich? Manchester?

    Codeshare with GF?

Recently I heard MH agreed to have codeshare agreement with MS on CAI-KUL-CAI route.

This is just a political talk i suppose. Remember the KUL-NBO route discussed last time?

Do we have a specific topic tracking all the media ads on AK and MH? i love to start one if wee dont have it already.

I wonder how will Dato' TF will react!

No wonder he's fighting for rights to discontinue any airlines services from SZB!
