  1. Ok ok, we get the message.

isn't this like the 3rd or 4th post today from you of the same thing?

I did post it on the MAS A333 new business class thread in a response to a comparison of all the Business Class seats by all MAS competitors in the region but I could not find it there after I posted it. It seemed it has been deleted. Thus, I re-post again. Sorry if this has caused confusion.

  2. Garuda has rolled out its newest A333, PK-GPZ with new super diamond business class seats and new economy seats on January 30th, 2016. Business class now has 24 seats in a 1 - 2 - 1 reverse herringbone direct aisle access configurations. Pictures can be seen here.

Garuda seems to continues to improve its hard products. With these new seats, Garuda probably has one of the most comfortable A333 around. Garuda is using its A333 mostly for the medium haul flights out of CGK and DPS to AUS, CHN, JPN, and KOR.

  3. GA rolled out its new A333 with B/E Super Diamond Business Class seats yesterday in Jakarta with 26 seats in a 1 - 2 - 1 reverse herringbone configuration. New Y class seats were also rolled out. Pictures can be seen here.

I think 27J/263Y is nice for short to regional route.

    Comparing to regional peers:

SQ: 30J/255Y 2-2-2 Angle-flat seats with 172 degrees recline. 60 inch seat pitch

TG: 36J/263Y 2-2-2 Angle-flat seats with 131 degrees recline. 58 inch seat pitch

GA: 36J/215Y 2-2-2 Full flat seats with 180 degrees recline. 74 inch seat pitch

MH: 27J/263Y 1-2-2 or 1-2-1 Full flat seats with 180 degrees recline. 76 inch seat pitch

MH has indeed a very competitive J hard product in place now.

  4. While GA inflight services are good, from my experience, the service quality is not consistent in their customer service though and there is still big room for improvements in this area. Their staff are generally friendly, it is just sometimes they have no clues in handling some situations. Not sure if they are not well trained or company information & procedures are not conveyed to them effectively.

Another thing is from my experience, SQ takes less than 24 hrs to reply to my email equiry / complaints while MH takes 2 weeks. GA however, has never reply to any of my emails.

Lately, GA has been very good in term of response time. The last email I wrote to them, I got a reply back in 2 days.

Just got off GA89 on First. It was an amazing experience and at times, as my dad said, "disgustingly opulent". It's probably the best commercial airline experience out there right now, IMHO.

I totally agree with you I had flown them F to NRT and back and I experienced the true romance of flying. There is no better F experience than the GA F experience now.

Completed my travel onboard GA412 from CGK to DPS on 19 December.

The FID did not show my flight, whether it was open to check in. So I entered the pax only area and went straight to GA counters to check in. GA staff was helpful and friendly. At the end only to find out our flight is delayed due to late arrival at the boarding gate (Apparently flight GA412 is often delayed as shown on Flightradar24's database). Our flight was delayed by 1.5 hour and arrived at Denpasar at 12:10am! Onboard, GA's service is great and i love the colourful uniform of the female F/As. The hairstyle may have been a copy of MH's hairstyle. GA proudly displays their Skytrax World Best Cabin Crew on the wall partition panel between biz and economy class. Wifi is also available onboard their 777-300ER if you are willing to pay a fee.

CGK is indeed hindering the growth of GA due to lack of apron space to park the aircraft. Hopefully, the new T3 ultimate terminal now under construction can help solve the problem.

  5. Thanks for the pix, Capt Radzi! smile.gif

It looks like the parallel taxiway extends to half the length of the runway only - perhaps it will be extended to full length in the future phases of the airport. I wonder what is the length of the runway - it looks like 3 to 4 km.

QZ is planning to set up a hub there - should be interesting into fly to a new airport! smile.gif

Here are the specifications of the active runway and the 3 taxiways :

    1 Runway : 3,750m x 60m

    1 Taxiway : 3,750m x 30m

    2 Taxiway : 2,000m x 30m

    Apron size is 200,000 m2

  6. Positioning itself as premium but serving prepacked sandwiches??

No pre-packed sandwiches but hot meal on its flight to BPN. Looks good based on this Trip Report on Indoflyer.net

    http://www.indoflyer.net/forum/tm.asp?m=649344

There seems to be some details to work out still but if maintained at this level, Batik Air is seriously giving GA a run for its money. It is good to have a good competition to GA in the Indonesian domestic market.

  7. It doesn't seem like there is a door on the GA new F though. So i believe it's not.

333 is not the problem. CX AUS services are all on the 333 too. The main problem is the Business Class seat offered on MAS 333.

There is a door on GA's new F. It is basically the same seat as the EY's OASIS suite from B/E Areospace which has 2 sided door.

I really like the choice of the color schemes and the materials for both the F and the C seats. I think GA has got it right this time around. The decision to go for the Sogerma Soltys seats for C is a good one.

  8. Malindo Air's flight stewardess uniform.

So, this is where Batik Air's kebaya uniform has gone to. It looks like Malindo is going to be the Malaysian equivalent of Batik Air or maybe it is the other away around now since Batik Air launch has been pushed back by Lion in Indonesia.

Here is the link to Batik Air uniform launch back in 2012 :

  9. The C seats may look similar to the casual observer but they are actually different. I believe the ones on GA are from B/E AErospace (MH's came from Recaro) and seems to be the latter, refined versions of what MH has on its 772 and 744s. The GA actually look better and sturdier, and seem to offer more room.

Indeed GA C has more room as GA only install 3 rows of flat bed (180 degree) C seats in the front cabin between door 1 and 2 and another 3 rows in the second cabin. Mind you GA's aircraft is A332 vs MH's A333. However, both GA and SQ only install 5 rows of lie flat C seats instead of 6 between door 1 and 2 on their A333.

  10. So J is using the same RECARO seats as the ones Philippines Airlines is using for its B777. These seats recline up to only 165 degree instead of 170 degree if I am not mistaken. The seat pitch should be around 58 - 60. Looking at the one photo that shows the cabin control monitor, it does look like there is only 1 J cabin (in dark green color) between door 1 and 2 which means all 6 rows of J are placed in the front cabin.

I agree the colors in Y looks very nice but not too sure about the blue colors in C.

  11. Garuda A333 has 5 rows of C seats in the first cabin between door 1 and 2 which is basically similar to what SQ has for its A333 and 2 rows in the second cabin. It would be interesting to see whether MH will also adopt the 2 cabins concept for its C class. By the way, I have experienced both the GA and the SQ seats and I have to say that these newer generation angled lie flat seats are actually quite comfortable.
