  1. Indeed, and it has been a blink of the eye since Terminal 3 was opened for public visit until today.

The whale kicking up water on the runway as the reversers are applied.

A curious new installation in the departure level - not sure if it serves a decorative purpose or a functional purpose to further improve the ventilation (it rotates and spins about its axis slowly with the motors creating a fair bit of whining in the process)

  2. Thanks a lot to all for your kind compliments :) Haha, I do think that karma would get replenished at an amazingly quick rate this festive season. No, unfortunately I didn't manage to get the 2 jumbos as I was in a rush for my year-end semester briefing that special day (which i miraculously made it on time too) after getting Lavender.

  3. If I'm not wrong the GA B735 operated one of the normal Garuda flights back right after dropping the Indonesian PM off, like last year when the Indonesian PM made his first official visit to Singapore. I guess it would be back as a normal inbound to pick him up when he is about to return home.

V8-ALI is leaving for LHR this afternoon at 3pm, perhaps carrying the Brunei Sultan on board? The official ASEAN meeting has ended I think with the signing of the ASEAN Charter yesterday; today seems to be some tour of the museums and some sideline meetings.

  4. Probably one of the best toilets in the world :)

A more 'normal' view of the whale

9V-SFM on a late rotation off 20R. Gotta catch them before they are progressively repainted into the new revised livery. :)

Catch these angles and more at the Changi Airport T3 open house from 12 Nov 07 to 09 Dec 07. $1 admission to the transit area & $3 for a 45mins tour. More details available at:- http://www.changiairport.com/t3/openhouse/

  5. hey guys,

im heading towards SIN from KUL this weekend. anyone can guide me to Changi Airport spotting area from Parkway parade? im staying near there.

    thanks

Hi, if you are heading to Changi Airport, just take service 36 opposite Parkway Parade and the bus would drop you off in Terminal 1 basment. The trip would take about 20-30mins. To head to Changi Beach for runway 20R arrivals, take service 31 opposite Parkway Parade to Bedok MRT and transfer to service 2 at the same stop. The beach is just a short walk away from Changi Village where it terminates. :drinks:

  6. Some shots of the big bus today :)

Showing off her bulk and huge wingspan with a crowd of company B777s preparing for their morning departures from Terminal 2.

A closer look at her :p

Saying hi to the Tigers at the Budget Terminal..........and still rolling!! A very late takeoff indeed for the world's first A380 commercial flight.

    Hope you enjoy the pictures:)

  7. Some catches from the day before:)

It would be a waste not to grab a shot this amazingly clean B-HKU in such nice afternoon sunlight with some nice cloud formation. In addition, she was also ex-SQ (9V-SMV).

    B-HKU_MW.jpg

Knowing well that she arrived in rather terrible conditions on her first visit, she made up for it by making a revisit exactly one week later in much better conditions.

In addition operating GY18 from Jakarta-Halim is this grand old lady.

    Enjoy!

  8. Nice Air NZ B772 there! Here are some shots I've taken today:-

Due to falling passenger loads (Myammar had stopped issuing new visas for now), Air Bagan now flies only every alternate day with a cute Fokker 100 (XY-AGC) instead of the usual A310.

    XY-AGC_MW.jpg

A very clean BBJ with a simple livery operated by Royal Flight as ROJ3 from CGK.

    A6-AIN_MW.jpg

And of course not forgetting Asiana's sole B763F, HL7507!

    HL7507_MW.jpg

    Hope you enjoy it:)

  9. Wow...nice sunset shots KC! Especially love the one of the CX jumbo rotating.

Some powerful Lotus Power to chase away the Monday blues :)

Introducing Mihin Lanka's A321 TC-TUB in a simple yet striking livery. It now serves SIN three times a week from Colombo.

    TC-TUB_MW.jpg

If one lotus isn't enough to drive away the blues, there's always the option of having two :D

(P.S. Anybody itching to visit SIN now? :))

  10. With absolutely gorgeous sunlight last afternoon, gorgeous subjects would have to appear :)

First up is this Air Bagan A310, XY-AGD. She differs from her sister ship -AGE by the fact that she has wingtip fences. Can't get enough of these cute Airbuses!

    XY-AGD_MW.jpg

Next Cathay Pacific sent in a silver bullet B-HMD as CX47. My first time catching a CX silver bullet and very pleased with it!

    B-HMD_MW.jpg

Regular PK-GGG now features additional stickers at the rear promoting the 'e'. Giving me a blink too as she prepares to land after a trip to Vietnam.

    PK-GGG_MW.jpg

A delayed arrival by China Cargo MD-11F B-2173. Not that I mind that she's more than 3hrs late to arrive in such nice sunshine.

    B-2173_MW.jpg

Last but not least, 9V-SQG returns from a test flight with freshly applied new titles. These enlarged titles really look great on the 772!.

Looking forward to some more great weather ahead for even more spotting :)

  11. Personally I was initially quite horrified last year to discover that Air Asia had jacked up the cost from RM2 (I think) to RM8 for the transfer between the City Lounge & Senai Airport.

From what I know (cab excluded), there are 3 ways of getting to Senai Airport from Singapore

    A) If one is boarding a MH flight at Senai, there is a convenient Senai Express coach from Copthorne Orchid & Asia Hotel in Singapore direct to Senai airport.

    B) As mentioned above, using AK's rip-off shuttle shuttle. One advantage is that the departure timings of the shuttle is sync-ed with the flight departure timings. The city lounge is located at Kota Raya II terminal located at Jln Trus behind Komtar Complex near the immigration complex, and is served by SBS Transit 170 Blue Plate (indicating JB Kota Raya II at the front after clearing JB Immigration), SBS Transit 160 (from Jurong East Int), and SMRTBus 950 (from Woodlands Regional Interchange). Walkable distance from the immigration complex though.

    C) Totally by public transport (locals way) Cheapest too! =D.

    For those who are interested,

Step 1: Make your way to JB Immigration complex. An easy way is to take the MRT to Kranji and board svc 160/170 on the opposite side of the road. For this method, strongly advise to use SBST instead of Causeway Link cos SBST has the most frequent buses & save on transport cost (through fare from Kranji to Larkin Terminal).

Step 2: Clear Singapore & JB immigration (the time at each checkpoint varies from 1min (my personal record) to 3hrs). After exiting JB Immigration hall, keep left and there should be a group of people waiting. Take svc 170 with the plate that says "JB Larkin" at the front. Just show bus ticket to board. Then the bus will proceed non-stop to Larkin terminal (abt 20-30mins, depending on traffic). Alight at the terminal.

Step 3: Wait at the same side of the terminal as where you had alighted (the terminal building has 3 sides). Board GML Line service G1 or Maju service 227 (both same route. Either of these 2 services are quite frequent and reliable as it is considered one of the 'prestige' services by the operators. The bus may or may not come into the berths. If not just walk out where the bus would be waiting. The destination "Senai Airport" or "Senai" is prominantly displayed at the front (and maybe the side & the rear too). The fare (if it had not hiked yet) is RM3.00. The journey would take about 1hr, and its rather express as it uses Jln Skudai all the west before turning to head north towards Senai. The bus would stop terminate right in front of the Senai Airport terminal building.
