it because MAS still have a contract with current lounge, and it already clearly stated there that once the contract has ended, then MAS passengers can access into OneWorld lounge. Its really not a big issue. After all, MAS officially joined OneWorld still quite recent.....

I guess it wasnt her. Aeroflot's uniform (based on her picture at the left) is red and the hand showing finger is wearing black?
And if this an aircraft belongs to russian carrier, there must be russian language/writing for the lavatory, is it?
-
Yea well , nice video . Now MH is in oneworld .....but with 3 identity logos ....schizophrenic ?
not 3. Only 2. The old logo will be gone along with the old aircraft.... The blue ribbon livery is dedicated for A380 aircraft only while the swoosh livery is for the remaining fleet

but Qantas also mentioned the following
quoted:
"Expanded network within Asia through local partners (such as Japan Airlines, China Eastern, Jet Airways, Cathay Pacific and Malaysia Airlines)"
(source: http://www.qantas.com.au/travel/airlines/media-releases/feb-2013/5486/global/en)
and in the 5 airlines mentioned, 3 are oneworld members....so Qantas would still probably be code sharing MH on certain routes not covered by Emirates ie: PER - KUL
and SYD-KUL
-
There is a strong possibility that MAS will pull out or suspend NRT-LAX vv sooner than later.
source?

I wonder why KUA got attention to be code shared since it is not populated as high as KBR and TGG in the East Coast region
There is ClubMed in KUA
-
It's news. People especially Americans love to have heroes.
indeed..

Flying was less deadly in 2012 than in any year since 1945, but that does not mean all airlines are equally safe.
The Jet Airliner Crash Data Evaluation Centre (JACDEC), which collects information about aviation accidents and safety, has published its annual Airline Safety Ranking.
The ratings take into account the number and deadliness of the hull losses (destroyed airplanes) they have suffered in the past 30 years, how they have fared more recently, and how many flights they have flown without incident.
The results do not take into account the cause of the hull losses, or whether the airline is at fault, so they are not a perfect measure of how safely an airline behaves.
Of 60 ranked airlines, here are the 10 with the worst safety records, including the number of hull losses since 1983, and how many fatalities they caused:
#10 SkyWest Airlines: 3 hull losses; 22 dead
#9 South African Airways: 1 hull loss; 159 dead
#8 Thai Airways International: 5 hull losses; 309 dead
#7 Turkish Airlines: 6 hull losses, 188 dead
#6 Saudia: 4 hull losses; 310 dead
#5 Korean Air: 9 hull losses; 687 dead
#4 GOL Transportes Aéreos: 1 hull loss; 154 dead
#3 Air India: 3 hull losses; 329 dead
#2 TAM Airlines: 6 hull losses; 336 dead
#1 China Airlines: 8 hull losses; 755 dead
Update: This post has been updated to clarify how JACDEC produces its safety rankings.

Sorry but does "Sama-Sama" sound five-star full serivce to you?
Dont ask Malaysian, ask foreigners instead...

I really don't like this livery! nothing meaning for me, tail scheme is looks like much "US patriotism". Maybe American Airlines think about employees pays instead creating new livery! American economy in "deep" still!
Here is why they chose this livery: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-KD0PdI1Ek%C2%A0

Yes, it is a nice re-work of the AA livery as the old one has been around for more more than 40 years. I think the base colour is grey, not silver.
Well an aviation forum should be more technically accurate. But I do note that lots of non-aviation people in Malaysia do call Airasia "AA".
Note that many Malaysians are still very insular and have not heard of American Airlines. To them, an American airline is more like Pan Am or TWA!
or for them ''American Airlines" are every airlines from/based in America
Very nice - reminds me of captain america.
On a side note :Also glad to note at least here nobody calls Air Asia "AA" - its a pet peeve of mine. E.g. "Wah I took AA from LCCT to Bali last weekend and it was delayed" - my usual response is "I didn't know American flew between KL and Bali?"
the chance is slim in this site that full of Aviation ethusiasts
-
I like the old and this new livery of AA. AA is 1 of my favorite airlines.
-
-
Glad that they kept the bare metal look.
The fuselage is painted in silver actually
AA's new look symbolizes their passion for progress and the spirit that is uniquely American.
-
AA has introduced new livery just now
What do you guys think?
-
More than 200 travellers and bloggers from across Asia Pacific were recruited as food critics, with the panel rating their in-flight meals based on taste, presentation, choice and, for those assessing the low cost airlines, the value for money.
What presentation on LCC?
-
Our poor tiny compact LCCT is already damn packed... if Malindo is going to operate the flight by March and KLIA2 is going to open in June 2013.... wow...
they already stated earlier if they will start operation in March, they are going to operate out of KLIA main terminal building before KLIA 2 start operation

wow very nice vid.. never knew KUL(SZB)-JHB once operated by fokker

Vladivostok Air to Launch Seasonal Charter Links to Malaysia
Posted 14 November 2012 07:39
Russian carrier Vladivostok Air is to operate a seasonal series of 15 charter flights linking its home base in the Far Eastern city of Vladivostok with the popular Malaysian holiday destinations of Kota Kinabalu and Langkawi. The flights, which will operate via the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur and will be flown in partnership with Malaysian tour agency Tourism Vacation Resources Sdn Bhd.
The first flight is scheduled to operate on December 17, 2012 and will continue through to March 26, 2013. Nine return flights will operate to Kota Kinabalu and six to Langkawi and these will be operated using either Tupolev Tu-204-300 or Airbus A320 equipment. Vladivostok Air configures its Tu-204-300 fleet with eight Business Class and 134 Economy seats, while its A320s are slightly larger with space for 12 Business Class and 138 Economy passengers.
According to Malaysia’s Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen, the new air services will support an anticipated increase in Russian visitor numbers to Malaysia. In the first half of this year there was a 28 per cent rise in Russian tourist arrivals in Malaysia and the country expects to record around 45,000 visitors from the country during the full year, up from 38,918 in 2011.
“The direct chartered flights will give us a boost in terms of attracting more Russian tourists to the country especially for long vacations to escape the winter season there,” explained Dr Ng. “Our beautiful vacation spots and beaches all over the country, like those in Langkawi and Kota Kinabalu, are a major draw for Russian tourists.
“They like to stay for up to eight to nine days there. Our main selling point is that we are able to give them warm and really nice places to escape the long winter in their country. We' would also like them to make Malaysia their second home while waiting for winter to end,” she added.
There are currently no direct air links between Russia and Malaysia although Aeroflot previously provided non-stop services between Moscow Sheremetyevo and Kuala Lumpur between October 1998 and March 2001, and Transaero Airlines offered seasonal services between the Malaysian capital and Moscow Domodedovo between December 2011 and May 2012.
According to Dr Ng, Vladivostok is a logical location to begin new ties between Russia and the Malaysian destinations of Kota Kinabalu and Langkawi due to its geographic position. Flight times are estimated to be six and a half hours and eight hours and forty minutes, respectively, said the Tourism Minister. “This is an untapped route and I see a lot of potential in this partnership. This will not only bring in more tourist arrivals from Russia, but will also strengthen the friendly ties between our two countries,” she added.

Why must MH limit CRJ/ERJ at SZB and not base at KUL? At KUL, CRJ/ERJ could compliment 738 by providing daily or multiple daily to destinations that are unprofitable for 738 and to feed MH network.
If a airline couldn't justify training, maintenance, etc, it shouldn't be in business at the first place. MH is providing ground service to a host of airlines and engineers are rated on aircraft types that MH is not operating.
MH current business model is proven to be uncompetitive and unprofitable, remain status quo will not improve the bottom lime.
i think when they decided to buy this 36 new turboprop aircrafts, it is a sign they no longer use their "previous" (rather than current) business model which was proven uncompetitive and unprofitable...
-
I don't know about that but with turboprop, I doubt it would be utilised beyond 150 mins flt time or 700nm range from its base. If my assumption is true, SEA network would not be covered much by this equipment.
especially FY operated from SZB and Maswings do not fly within peninsula
