This route was only started in late March if I remember correctly with three flights per week. So only lasted about 10 weeks. Forward bookings must have been low. I wonder what load factor they have had on these flights.

Started on 20 Mar 2014. Probably load factor not as good as another new route launched in the same month (KCH/KBR). I think they will replace this route by introduce MYY-KBR.

On 21st April inaugural flight for another AirAsia's A320 new route between Singapore and Kota Bharu. Pax load for SIN/KBR 78 pax and KBR/SIN 97 pax.

Just saw on Job street advertisement about Flynas (a leading low cost Saudi airline). Seems they will hire Cabin Crew recruitment @ Kuala Lumpur and will start flight to Kuala Lumpur in 2014.

Yup and in the latest Going Places Apr 2014 issue too, Malaysia Airlines announced closing down the SYD GL.

Inside inflight magazine Going Places Apr 2014 issue, Malaysia Airlines already advertised/informed that from 30th Apr 2014 MH will be no longer running flight between Kuala Lumpur (KUL) and Los Angeles (LAX).

Flew on KUL/KCH/KUL last weekend. Kek lapis Sarawak served by MASAwana catering only flight from KCH but for flight from KUL there's no any cakes nowadays. Same goes for chocs & fruits no anymore.

AirAsia have to look back on their "Telanjang" words and come out with another advertisement.
Give them some example.

Flew on MH yesterday, not only "Nasi Lemak Telanjang" but now we can see salted peanuts new packaging. I called it as "Kacang Kurus" or "Kacang Diet" because from previous 20g down now to 15g. Very slim.

Other than KBR/KCH, its seems AirAsia will introduce more new routes direct flights from KBR to/from JHB and MYY starting in March 2014 3x weekly.

Seems commence flight KBR/DMK postponed again from 19 March 2014 to 28 May 2014 due to surrounding the political situation in Bangkok.

Based on their website and now bookable, OD introducing another new route for sector Penang (PEN) to/from Langkawi (LGK) operated by ATR72-600 commence on 27 Jan 2014.

As known, one of reason why AirAsia open this route because of demand especially for those Kelantanese working in Sarawak (especially teacher, student) and that's why they introduce 1st flight starts on 22 March (school break started).
Group KBBRI (Kota Bharu Bandaraya Islam) https://www.facebook.com/kbbri?fref=ts always give a fully support (marketing) to make sure any routes for KBR will success.

Firefly Defers Commencement of Kota Bharu - Bangkok Service8 January 2014
SUBANG - Firefly Airlines has issued a statement today that due to the unrest and uncertainty surrounding the political situation in Bangkok, Firefly has deferred the commencement of its newest route between Kota Bharu and Bangkok.
The route was originally scheduled to commence on 24 January however will now be deferred to 19 March 2014.

Malaysia Airlines Welcomes Krabi As Its Latest Destination8 January 2014 at 16:42Subang, 8 January 2014: Effective 3 February 2014, Malaysia Airlines will be offering four times weekly service between Kuala Lumpur and Krabi, Thailand.
MH770 will depart Kuala Lumpur at 2.55pm and will arrive Krabi at 3.40pm. The return flight MH771 will depart Krabi at 5.20pm and will arrive Kuala Lumpur at 8.05pm.
The route will be operated by the B737-800 aircraft with scheduled flights on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
According to Malaysia Airlines' Group Chief Executive Officer Ahmad Jauhari Yahya, "Malaysia Airlines is excited to expand its network by introducing Krabi as its latest destination. Krabi is a popular holiday spot and a favourite amongst Malaysians,therefore we are pleased to offer our guests the opportunity to visit Krabi via Malaysia Airlines.”
“This will also be a gateway for our guests to connect between Kuala Lumpur and Krabi with other destinations on Malaysia Airlines as well as oneworld routes,” he added.
Krabi, the gem of the Andaman Sea, is abundant with picturesque landscapes, stunning limestone cliffs, beautiful beaches, refreshing waterfalls, breathtaking inland and sea caves and riveting underwater. Krabi is home to several National Parks with over 130 surrounding islands such as Koh Phi Phi and Koh Lanta.
“This four times weekly flights from Kuala-Lumpur to Krabi is complimented by another 35 weekly flights to Bangkok and 21 weekly flights to Phuket, bringing it to a total of 60 weekly flights between Malaysia and Thailand. This is a very encouraging development for Malaysia Airlines especially with Visit Malaysia Year 2014”, added Ahmad Jauhari.

Heard the latest news and was informed Firefly's inaugural flight KBR/DMK as early schedule commencing on 24th Jan 2014 will be postponed to 19th Mar 2014 due to current politic situation in Bangkok. On website, new booking only available starting on 19th Mar 2014.
