  1. If they have rudder and speedbrakes, I'm sure they use elevons for the gliding maneuver. RCS thruster for the rotational and linear thrust in space ??

True, but the RCS is still be use during landing in certain situation, like course correction or altitude correction.

Most shuttle mission uses the RCS during landing. This can be notice by a couple of loud bang sound while the shuttle is gliding for approaching

  2. During a landing, a shuttle is a dead stick.

No forward thrust or reverse thrust. All they have is the RCS thruster located at the nose and the OMS pod at the tail and those are for maneuvering.

Landing is actually harder then launch. The crew only have one chance to do it right. It's either they land it perfectly, or else not at all. They can't abort landing and do a go around.

  3. What aircraft?What happened?

It was a Delta with a B727-200 aircraft back in 1995 flying from LA to New Orleans. It actually started with a few series of air pocket, and suddenly it do a slow belly dive for almost 500ft. I was thinking it was some kind of wind sheer but i don't think wind sheer could happen at such a high altitude. The pilot says it was just an air pocket, but bigger then the usual.

  4. ya agree.. but then it will seem promoting the driver then the racing brand or other sponsor. Unless Michelle Shumacher legand.. By the way.. if sponser ferrari will be more cool right?

That would be better. If AK sponsor Ferrari, we will have second Red Devil plane with Raikonnen and Massa on the fuselage.

  5. em correct too.. maybe too many sponsor until have body of aircraft have to be paint

It's nice if they just draw a big F1 car on the middle of the fuselage, with Air Asia title still visible.

Or maybe standardize it with the Manchester United plane by having the picture of the two F1 racer on the plane, with team logo on the tail.

  6. I used to fly LAX-IAH on Continental 757-200 or 737series, about 3 hours flight

Also IAH-LAX on Continental 767-400ER or 757-300 on some occasion, flight duration same as above.

Long time ago, I fly 3.5 hours on Delta 727-200 for LA to New Orleans and Continental 727 for 3 hours for New Orleans - EWR.

I recall that there's some outside airline fly US domestic route like British Airways fly ORD-IAH on 777 and China Airline do the Houston - Seattle route on an A340-300.

  7. Chapter 10

    We are go for launch.

Sorry for the delay on getting back to this topic, I'm sure that some of you is waiting. Here we go.

Some interesting fact: Did you know it has been a tradition for over 20 years that before each shuttle launch and before the commander can lead his men to the shuttle the Commander of the shuttle crew will personally visit the boss of Flight Crew Operation for a card game of black jack. The commander are not allowed to take his crew to the shuttle until he win the game against the FCO boss.

  8. So that is the meal box on board MH.

Continental has better snack tray for their 2 hours domestic flight. I remember flying CO on their 737-500, everyone get a snack tray contains:

1 cheese filled hot pocket (something like a hot bun with melt cheese filling inside)

1 bag of Doritos tortila chip

    1 apple

1 packet of biscuit and candy bar

a can of soda (you can ask for more if you want)

looks like I'll be taking Firefly and Air Asia for my trip to Langkawi this December.

  9. bullcrap 5 star. MAS is 5 star if they want compare themselves with below average South African countries LCC. Come on lah, even TAAG Angola Airlines nowadays has updated aircraft with better service then MH. I'm giving 2 star to MH if comparing MH to other European, US or Middle Eastern carrier.

Azahan got the point. Not just they just know the A380 not long ago, I also heard they think that all turboprop is Fokker and plane with longer "body" (it's how they say fuselage) is airbus.

If MH keep on this way, Malaysia going to be one of the country without a national airline.
