  1. Singapore's Zurich services work partly because of the codeshare it has with LOT. The feed it also has and the fact it started or has remained daily since it started. A service under 3x weekly doesn't work!! But I think MAS's problem with their Zurich service not working was because of feed and frequency. Just my two cents. Alex.
  2. Starts February 1st Should be daily: Singapore - Kuala Lumpur 1500 - 1555 Kuala Lumpur - Singapore 1635 - 1730 Prices start at about $465.00RM return inclusive of taxes. Just waiting for Air Asia now. Alex.
  3. Here we go... Singapore Airlines - 744, 772, 773 (To go on the A388 soon! :-)) Malaysia Airlines - 772, 333, 332, 734 Air Asia - 733 Thai Air Asia (same thing right?) - 733 Orient Thai - 742 Korean Airlines - 74M (now that was an interesting ride) Cathay Pacific - 773, 744, 333 China Eastern - 319, 320, 343 Ansett Australia - 733, 320, 743, Fokker F27 I think or Saab 340 Qantas - 738, 733, 734, 762, 763, 744, DH4, DH3 Air New Zealand - 762, 763 Virgin Blue - 73G, 738 To Come: Tiger Airways - 320 I think that's it. Merry Christmas all. Alex.
  4. From all reports, the Changi LCCT will be used in Singapore and the LCCT in KLIA will be used. THis would upset Jetstar quite badly because they have always operated from the MTB at Changi. We'll see though... This is a huge win for them! Alex.
  5. I had no idea how to put that picture link in. Sorry! Yes, so it's not just me seeing potentially double wheels on the main gear... Alex.
  6. Interesting scheme... Thai Air Asia A320 Is that double wheels I see or is it just me? Alex.
  7. With only 6, there's only so much it can do, but service the prime markets and slot the A380 into ports where Skyteam members can help is a good idea. I think: With 6: KUL - AMS will be daily (MH16/17) possibly supplemented with a 3x weekly / Daily B744 service - Daylight departure... Roughly same time as MH4 (or 3, I keep forgetting which is which). 2x A380s needed. KUL - SYD daily (MH122/123). Keep MH140/141 as a B744. 1x A380 needed KUL - LHR daily (MH1/2). The other one remains a B744. 2x A380s needed With the spare one, potentially operate into CDG. I know, it isn't the best at times in terms of loads but the Skyteam feed could really give the A380 a run for its money on that route. 3x weekly even... It will be interesting to see the configuration and even a new product, if there is one. I mean, they only introduced a new product not so long ago! With the potential spare B744s could there be a possibility we could see some hubs ie Penang, KK or even Kuching gain flights to Europe and beyond? I remember in the past they were saying there is demand for a Penang - Sydney direct service and even a London - Penang service. 3x weekly on both would that work? Alex.
  8. BA are smart in using this SIN terminator to return to KUL. BA normally use their flights through SIN / BKK to head to Australia in some way or form. HKG flights are terminators though. But that's only because HKG is a BIG One World hub. If BA flew into KUL directly, there'd have to be some decent return on it. With MH saying that their LHR route isn't giving a good return, I am not surprised to see BA route it via Singapore. Still to be made official but it'd be nice to see another carrier when I go to KL for plane spotting here and there. Alex.
