  2. Fukuoka - Kuala Lumpur is coming!

You can select it on the homepage. So far without flights!

Kuala Lumpur - Fukuoka 4/7 from 28th february

PETALING JAYA: AirAsia X will fly to Fukuoka in Japan, starting February next year.

AirAsia X Group commercial head Barry Klipp said flights will run four times a week.

He said that the launch of the new route will be a boost for tourism of both cities and also strengthen bilateral ties between Malaysia and Japan

  4. Yes, IIRC their last communication on the matter indicated end of 2019.

I think that will be the 242t version for their medium haul routes. They may also get the 251t version when it becomes available (Airbus said in 2020) so that they can fly the European routes from KUL.

I think that they will start europe with routes from DMK!

Bangkok is the much bigger market out of europe.

  5. Malindo Air last week filed operational schedule for its planned service to Japan, as the airline intends to serve Kuala Lumpur – Taipei Taoyuan – Sapporo New Chitose route. The airline would offer this route 3 times a week with Boeing 737-800, from 23JAN19. Reservation is not available for the moment.

Overall service on Kuala Lumpur – Taipei Taoyuan route would increase from 7 to 10 weekly as a result.

  6. I think its more that onestop-flights are producing a lot of more costs!

I was in OOL in february and take a look at the AAX-Ops there. The crew changed always in OOL. So you need 2 crews and the jet is long time on the way because of the 2 stops.

The only other one-stop KUL-KIX-HNL is a bit different because the mainmarket ( i think 90% ) is between KIX and HNL. So you can get good yields on both legs, KUL to KIX and KIX to HNL.

Maybe the same with the future KUL-TPE-KIX.

OOL to AKL is not yieldstrong enough to make it work. All around OOL is leisure traffic.

  7. Anyway Airasia X will be suspending KUL-AKL February 11 next year.

I ask myself how they wanna use 100 ordered A330neo in the whole network if they couldnt make Auckland work?

Or it is because of the addon OOL-AKL...so far nonstop is not possible.

But hey they offer to start KL-Srinagar 4/7 with A333 :-P

“We are pleased to express our interest to operate the direct international flight with our A330 wide-body aircraft which has 377 seats from Kuala Lumpur to Srinagar. The route will serve as a new and the first direct connection between Southeast Asia and Kuala Lumpur to Srinagar, which we believe has a great potential to so much offer in terms of tourism,” said a letter from Chief Executive Officer (CEO), AirAsia, Benyamin Ismail.

  8. Johor Bahru

I have done some work and here you can see a possible! utilsation plan of the 6 jets based in JHB!

This plan ist made for the second week of december!

Could be some changes in January for example.

They canx 3/7 TGG. For that, IPH goes to daily.

The first time is the departure time in JHB, the second the arrival time in JHB.

For further questions dont hesitate to ask me.

  9. It was reported that the two A333s of Indonesia Airasia X will be wet leased to Thai Airasia X. Perhaps that is why this is NTU....

Another frame, MSN 791 ex-B-6129, was also scheduled to go to Thai Airasia X - I wonder if this will also be another NTU...

Meanwhile they are talking about just one of the two.

The second one should stay in Indonesia for Hadj-Charter...

  10. Jeju Air from December 2018 is adding 2 additional international routes from Muan, including service to The Philippines and Malaysia. Planned service includes the following.

    Muan – Kota Kinabalu eff 23DEC18 2 weekly 737

    7C2513 MWX2010 – 0000+1BKI 737 47

    7C2514 BKI0100 – 0650MWX 737 15

  11. Indonesia AirAsia

Lets have a look to Indonesia!

Since the crash in 2014 the fleet of A320 was down from 30 to 22.

Then in Dec 2017 and in Aug 2018 they add one A320, so they are 24 now. Operating now again under one AOC, Indonesia Airasia. Indonesia AirAsia X is more or less not more excisting.

Based on the data for december the bases are:

    9 A320 at Jakarta

    7 A320 at Denpasar

    4 A320 at Surabaya

3 A320 at Medan ( one of the 3 with nightstop in KUL )

    1 A320 serves as a reserve.

Indonesia is a very challenging market for AirAsia.
The market is growing, but the prices are very cheap. They are trying to focus on a few international markets like KUL, SIN, DMK and PER. Many domestic routes were canceled due to competition.

  12. InDaily has confirmed that Malindo Air, a subsidiary of Lion Air, has been in negotiations with Adelaide Airport to establish regular flights between Adelaide and Bali.

The Australian Government this morning issued a temporary directive, ordering its officials and contractors not to fly using Lion Air or any of its subsidiaries, including Malindo Air.

  13. https://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2018/10/31/sabah-appeals-to-authorities-to-reconsider-halting-kk-tawau-kk-sandakan-flight-routes/
KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Tourism, Culture and Environment minister Datuk Christina Liew is appealing to the authorities, including MASwings to reconsider its decision to stop the Kota Kinabalu-Tawau and Kota Kinabalu-Sandakan routes.

She said the decision to stop these routes, starting Jan 1, 2019, would affect the people of Sabah, as the flight helps connect the urban and rural folks and helps promote these areas to tourists.
