  1. Correct. However even if they reinstate it, their fare is exorbitant since there is no competition. Sad

I think this flight is operated by AirAsia Philippines since it has Z2 code. Does AirAsia Malaysia has same route via KUL? Z2 is suspension until end of Feb next year. Thereafter zeroed out?

No currently there is a daily CEB-KUL operated bei Philippines AirAsia. No AK.

And KUL-Kalibo was canx before the information that Borcay will be closed. So it had nothing to do with that.

  4. Bangkok is bookable since weeks and will start at the 16th august operated by Thai AirAsia.

He speaks from 3 more International destinations starting in december! Plus Sibu and Bintulu.

Now in this moment not less than 8 jets are on the way from South Korea to BKI. All by korean airlines!

I think Seoul could be one destination..around 5h flighttime, possible with the A320.

the other 2 ones should be China, maybe Shanghai and Changsha?

  5. Maybe soon 10 A320 in Kota Kinabalu instead of 8?

    http://www.theborneopost.com/2018/08/07/kk-set-to-be-more-important-airasia-hub/

“As it is, we are flying in eight aircraft and if everything goes well, we are looking at 10 aircraft in total by January 2019.

By the end of the year, three more international destinations from KK will be added on top of existing 295 weekly flights.

“As for domestic routes, we are currently in discussion with the Malaysian Aviation Commission (MAVCOM), to add routes to Sibu and Bintulu in addition to our existing routes to Sandakan, Tawau, Miri and Kuching,”

  6.

KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia Bhd has unveiled its fifth route into Vietnam yesterday, as the low-cost carrier launched its direct flight from Kuala Lumpur to Phu Quoc, Vietnam.

The four weekly flights will commence on November 2. Phu Quoc marks AirAsia’s 59th unique route, apart from its existing destinations in Vietnam namely, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hanoi and Nha Trang from Malaysia.

Speaking after the launching ceremony, AirAsia head of commercial Spencer Lee said that the launch of the direct flight services to Phu Quoc reflects AirAsia’s continued efforts to strengthen the airline’s connectivity within the Asean region.

He also said that AirAsia will be offering a special introductory all-in-fares for the new route starting from RM90. The special fare will be available for booking from August 8 to 19 for the travel period from November 2 this year to March 29, 2019.

“We are delighted to be the first airline to launch direct services from Kuala Lumpur to one of Asean’s best-kept secrets, Phu Quoc. As a truly Asean airline, we are committed to enable more people to visit more places in this region.

“Our guests can connect seamlessly to Phu Quoc via Kuala Lumpur from 20 cities in 10 countries, including China, India, Australia, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. Travellers from any country can also visit Phu Quoc visa-free for up to 30 days, making this paradise more accessible,” he said.

  7. How does Easy Jet and Ryan Air conduct their turnaround? I remember being at HKIA a couple of times and in most time, no aerobridge even for MH 737. However they bussed everyone from gate to aircraft and vise-versa. Perhaps it's to cut down risk of some psycho rushing on to the tarmac and on to the path of taxiing aircraft.

Thats different depending on the airports here in Europe but they prefer walkboarding like AirAsia do!

Normally they are planning with a 25min turnaround.

Some airports dont offer walkboarding, like Barcelona for example. There they are planning with 35min turnaround.

  8. The flights are not sold on the website to travellers resident in Thailand. They are all pre-sold to major Chinese tour operators.

This month, Nok Air is also contracted by travel companies in China, that buy the entire flight’s seat allotment, to ferry groups from four other cities in China; Yinchuan (once weekly), Haikao (three weekly), Changsha (three weekly), and Linyi (two weekly).

Five-day tours, including return flight tickets, will cost 1,080 yuan (164 U.S. dollars), and six-day tours will be 1,280 yuan (194 U.S. dollars), including taxes.

This is the normal procedure for Charter flights from China....in this case to Pattaya.

Unbelievable how cheap this trips are for the chinese people.

But in the end...the airlines who do such services couldnt gain much money with that! ( Nokair, Thai Lion, Malindo )
