  1. Hi. Both ways via AK. Only that in KLIA LCCT there was no such announcement.

i think there is a sign board at the outside at LCCT (if i dont mistake) and i had seen a few time, AA officer advise any passanger who take photo at outside esp when boarding.

  2. Hi guys,

Took some pix last Wednesday while on AK from KK to KL. Noticed that the new T1 was already in use.

One other thing I noticed before departure there was an announcement that taking photos outside of the terminal building is prohibited by the authority. The same announcement was made on my return flight. However, no such announcement was made before landing at KLIA and departing KLIA. A special request from KKIA perhaps?

    Hello,

i think you came to KK via MAS and back to KL via AA. i dont think its a special request from KKIA but its an official law by DCA esp when in open / outside the terminal like LCCT. why taking photo is prohibited? it because when you taking photo you will disturbed the others for boarding and will make it late. try to imagine if every one want to take photo while tehre is other people want to rush for boarding. and i think it also for safety reasons.

anyway i just came back from LCCT sent my wife back to KK and she just called me told she just arrived and waiting for the bags. and i like to wish Happy Chinese New Year. sorry for belated wish since i'm quite busy with my work and this monday i'll go to Kuala Langat bring my under 12 cricket player for Selangor state tournament.

  3. since now i doesnt have any BKI spotting picture so i think this would be related to BKI history and i think it had been mentioned in last BKI thread.

here is the Double Six monument at Grace Park, Sembulan.

The Double Six Tragedy, also known as the Double Six Crash, was a plane crash which took place on June 6, 1976 in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia. The plane, operated by Sabah Air, coming from Labuan crashed in the sub-district of Sembulan in Kota Kinabalu upon approaching Kota Kinabalu International Airport. The crash killed everyone on board the flight, including Tun Fuad Stephens, the Chief Minister of Sabah at that time. The other passengers on the flight were State Ministers Datuk Salleh Sulong, Datuk Peter Mojuntin, Chong Thien Vun, and assistant minister Darius Binion. Others who perished were the then Secretary of State for the Ministry of Finance of Sabah Datuk Wahid Peter Andau, Director of Economic Planning Unit of Sabah Dr. Syed Hussein Wafa, Isak Atan (Private Secretary to Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah), Corporal Said Mohammad (bodyguard to Tun Fuad Stephens) and Captain Ghandhi Nathan (the pilot of the aircraft).

The reason behind the crash is uncertain. Immediately after the accident there were allegations of foul play because of the death of the Chief Minister, but no evidence of such has ever been found. The aircraft was an Australian designed and built Nomad.

The Double Six monument was erected on the exact spot of the fatal crash. Before this, it was a water village area then developed to the aparments area and open public park with food kiosk.

  4. A few years ago, i saw the A109 below landed on one of our navy ships....for special ops maybe..

    agusta.jpg

actually i didnt noticed or remember about this helicopter. i had check the latest asset of TUDM and this one and only A-109 Power was used by TUDM as VIP role. i assumed this helicopter was received last year.

  5. I don't think the A109 belonging to PUTD is transporting VIPs around. Currently RMAF is using the Sikorsky S-70A and Agusta AS-61 for VIP transport. A few years ago, i saw the A109 below landed on one of our navy ships....for special ops maybe..

    agusta.jpg

Yup , we have another heli that also used for this role, it's a S-70 Whitehawk. we have 2 of its. for the A109 in PUTD, actually its more to transport top brass in Malaysian Armed forces (its also VIP itsn't it?) rather than used for other military mission. i'll try to find this thing in one of the local defence magazine that published last year if i dont mistaken. For the A-109 as shown on the picture, i dont have any idea about it.

  6. Cikgu,

    Selamat datang ke MalaysianWings

Good to have another educator on board...

Err, may I know, sekolah mana?

BTW, love your A109 shots... But heard the A109 is underutilised by the Army... can anyone confirm or shed light to this?

Thanks, i love aviation but more to military.

Some where in Sabak Bernam, Selangor.

for your question about A109, i think its role now more to VIP transport rather than military operation.

anyway i still wondering, where i can post my military aircraft picture in this forum?

  8. Would ove to see more of the Agusta/Wesland LUH pics., Geoff..

It looks well sleek and dangerous...

I notice that the paint on the chopper is very similar to the army's uniform camo colors

Anymore info on the bird? For e.g. payload, mission specification?

    Thanks

The Agusta Westland A-109 LOH is similar to A-109E Power that used by Bomba. The paint similiar to the army camo because its under the Army aviation or Pasukan Udara Tentera Darat. for now, A-109 will be dedicated for training, light utility, reconnaissance and support role for special group task force or limited SAR. in the near future, they have been plan to buy a dedicated combat helicopter (before this we had heard about Rooivalk, but no futher action had taken) so this A-109 is the starting point to this plan. A-109 also can be assign for Light Observation Helicopter and will be side by side in any mission with our future combat helicopter (just like OH-58 Kiowa and AH-64 Apache may be)

even this A-109 can be equipped with 20 mm cannon pod or 70mm rocket for any limited air fire support role, this add on weapon just limited its operation range.
