  1. I hope you're not serious....

I'm serious. After all, if someone else can do a heck of a better job for MH why should I stand in his/her way. Heck, I don't mind being a Padawan to a Sifu....one after all can never stop learning.

Its been said many times by a number of self proclaimed experts how lousy and incompetent the WHOLE ( that means me too) Mh Management is. There are also numerous not so subtle hints of dishonesty as well.

So this is my chance to see whether the Talk can do the Walk. And their chance to show they can Walk the Talk.

Again, Apply via Fax with full details to +60378472939 before 31st January 2008.

RM180K is pittance to pay if someone can create RM25Million revenue. I can get Board Approval to employ such a person.

And very sorry, only Malaysians need apply for now.

I am now waiting with great anticipation for the application to flow in.

In the meantime, I'm have to organise a B777 flight to Noumea from Manila for a group of Filipino workers departing tomorrow and returning home with RM1.5 million nett.

A job, I'm sure, a few here can show me how to do better....... ;)

  2. Isnt that your position, Captain Nik?

    Partly.

If its my position then the person must also have ATPL ,the ability to operate a B777 and a small amount of Airline Business experience.....

    :D

By the Way, application closed 31st January 2008.

Sorry for the short window but then one must not only talk quick, but also act fast.

  3. I honestly think that some of you lot would be good in replacing the current MAS management, as it seems that you guys have better vision and in depth knowledge of what's happening in the aviation industry..

The current management is just slow and seems to be out of touch..and i've got a feeling that they're starting to believe in their own hype as a 5 star airline..but for how long?..

I can only hope for the best..

    Hear Hear.

    Let's start small.....

    Regulatory Management

    Client Management

    Responsible For:

    RM 200million Turnover

    Growth of Only 5%

    Livelihood of 200 Cabin Crew

Interview Slots begins Monday 21st Jan 2008

Fax in Resume and book appointment at +60378472939.

    Now Everyone Can Fly....manage MAS

  4. For the class?? :pardon:

Colors follow the zones of the aircraft. This is to facilitate smooth boarding by zones and ensure the process will not be similar to boarding on the Great Red one.

If it was for class three colors would have been enough.

  5. Good rant against MAS from the consistent few. Nothing that we've not read in previous posts. Always good to be reminded about how complacent and lousy we MH management are. Keep me on our toes. And always looking behind my back.:D

But the topic is about the free upgrade for FF Biz Class to First Class upgrade for pax out of LAX.

I happened to be on one such flight last week and had a good long chat with 3 Americans, one caucasian family of three, a single caucasian and a Taiwanese America. The flight was The flightv had full First and Bizclass occupancy with only 1 seats unoccupied in EY.

The Taiwanese was the one who enjoyed the upgrade. He seemed very happy with the offer. The rest too are extremely happy with the crew, service and our inferior cabin that is light years behind the competitors.

    Cheers

  6. Arrrrgh ! But then I guess the three of them are more dissapointed than us - not that it's any consolation !

Nice idea though. May I be so bold as to suggest sending said MW representatives instead now to Jeddah or Medinnah to cover the return trips in what, a month's time ? :)

If the three are willing, I'll arrange that and this time I'llfollow up right up to the aircraft doorstep.

  7. All these extra charges, AK is not the only culprit. All the other airlines are guilty too, some more than others. Gone are the days when you just pay the fare plus airport tax. Personally I think all these false advertisement should be outlawed, just like they do in Australia / NZ (?)

Anyway lets not mixed up the business part and the personnel part. I'm sure there are advantages and disadvantages of working with either MH or AK. Yes MH has lots of internal problem; from what I heard from ex-AK pilots, so is AK. I never discount the possibility of flying with AK someday if the situation warrants it. It is all in the individual; it depends on the specific situation. There have been instances when I advised my copilots to join AK instead since it will be better for them, and they are captains with AK now.

Well put my friend. Well put.

BTW, I know both Capts mentioned, and they are old timers in MH who served MAS right to the end of their international career, and knowing their characters, I don't think they will slag off their former colleagues in MAS in such generalised context. Definitely there will always be the spoilt ones who mar the majority and the few disgruntled ones who are more vocal than others thus giving listeners the impression that all are like that, but do remember, one sparrow flying by means spring is here.

And I also do not think the two esteemed Capts appreciates having their names quoted here.

  8. Looks like Uncle Norman took off from BKI a bit earlier than scheduled this morning (08:25 by my wristwatch) !

Saw the bird flying off as I was about to leave for work, runway 02 departure I would guess.

Now eagerly waiting for the official photoshoot pics - thanks in advance again for all those involved ! :)

Unfortunately, Norman, T. Azahan and TK were denied boarding due to miscommunication as the Commander of the flight did not receive the written notification for reasons I have not determined yet. I have yet to talk to the three as they are probably sleeping.

Guess there's a first time for everything. SIGH....

  9. The Untouchables of Malaysian Aviation are very very smart people. I salute them for the way they do things for themselves.

SIGH..... I thought after the Rape of RAS, the Govt will see through what AK is doing but.......SIGH....,

There's a good chance it will happen....SZB as the LCCT

Whatever it is, I hope the Rakyat and the Country will be the ones to gain in the end.

  10. There are many embedded issues that accompanies aircraft purchase deals whenever MH buys airplanes. This fact makes it difficult to just merely cancel orders. The decison making process for purchase is not straightforward and there are times MH management cannot really exercise absolute power as it alwys involves a bigger picture.

Being a National airline the needs of the nation comes first, and MH only plays a supporting role in the game. MH management generally knows what's best for MH, and the powers that be also knows what's best for the country as a whole.

In the case of the A380, lots are at stake as such cancellation and/or compensation is only one part of a very big picture.

  11. Meor, your passes for Hajj Complex and BKI Airport access is already organised.

    Look forward to your pix.

  12. The service opb 734 started on the 10th November on a 4x weekly basis. The flight numbers seem to indicate it being only seasonal, however nothing of that nature was mentioned in the press release I recieved.

Macau is MAS's 7th Chinese destination, after Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen and Kunming.

    MH7056 Mon/Wed/Sat/Sun

    KUL (2015) - MFM (0010 +1)

    MH7057 Mon/Tue/Thu/Sun

    MFM (0100) - KUL (0450)

    7 Scheduled Chinese Destinations. There are other destinations;

MASCharter serves Xian, Wuhan, Chengdu, Guilin, Urumqi, Fuzhou, Chongqing, Harbin, Tienjin, Shenyang, Haikou, Nanning.

  13. Rudy, You may have missed the 'fun' of experiencing the Props and aircraft where basic flying skills count as much as the ability to manipulate automation well.

But when you consider the financial angle of the whole scheme, you started earning big bucks early in your career and the path to financial freedom is easier achieved.

I don;t know to what level the experience of flying basic aircraft is relevant in operating the advanced ones we fly now. I have flown with pilots who are ex training school direct to jets, and pilots who flown all types of singles and turboprops both as captain and as copilot. Frankly, I think people like you have more relevant skills as those with experience on varying types of aircraft have to go to various levels of adaptation to fly automated jets.

Some have to unlearn certain skills they acquired in their formative years. Those, who like you, who have never touched the smaller types take to automation like fish takes to water.

Sometimes i wonder at the relevance of training newbies on basic stall recovery knowing that the planes they are to fly will never allow such maneuver in the first place, even if you wanna do it on purpose.

  14. Don't know much about engineering but my guess is that it is better to have a clean split that affects a specific portion of an aircraft than to have catastrophic breakup in multiple areas. Kinda like having shear points in a transmission shaft.

Ensures the damage is confined to a small area and not spread out all over.....
