This is the airline that is currently flying to Redang under a package deal with Taaras (the poshest resort on the island) aka Berjaya Redang Resort.

I wonder who is Jojo.
-
Is he? Too bad though as I think he has been managing well under the radar and does not seem like a political appointee.
Unless he is one of the dancing CEOs in Shazalli's video.

I think the RM85,000 salary per month is unjust.
For this position, the ceiling should be only RM20,000 per month at its highest job grade.

Wow 7,015 miles!
Should be in the top 5 longest non stop flight from LHR.
That will look very nice in the flight record.
And it is the first scheduled non stop Europe-Borneo too.

This could be the end of regular SQ widebody services into KUL.

There's an illustration of the expanded MTB here, not sure if it is official or not:
But I am happy that it is not that far off from what I imagined.
This is my 2nd attempt at the proposal.
I think this is a better layout as it can increase the gate count (capacity) tremendously. But 1 pair of taxiway has to be sacrificed. I can't think of any other suggestion for the landside apart from getting that square shape around the existing structure becomes a perfectly symmetrical bigger rectangle.

With the election of a new Pakatan Harapan govt. will this MoU proceed or is it dead?
Dead as a dodo.
In fact I am expecting NAA and NAB to be disposed too.

2017's final numbers have been released.

It won't be so easy to get rid of the A350 as they are on 12 year leases from ALC.
I recalled correctly the 6 A350 are on a 6 years lease. And from past communications, MH is not too keen about it (that it will be returned to lessor as soon as the lease expires).

I hope there will be a transit hotel (a Plaza Premium Lounge or a Container Hotel) inside the MTB landside area specifically at the abandoned arrival level.

This one deserves its own thread and CONGRATS to Langkawi for this massive achievement!

While at it, here is the list for KUL as at 4 March 2018:
1. Batik Air | KUL-MAA-KUL
2. Ethiopian Airlines | KUL-SIN-KUL
3. Indonesia AirAsia X | KUL-BOM-KUL (ending on 29 April 2018)
4. KLM | KUL-CGK-KUL | Daily
5. Royal Jordanian | KUL-BKK-KUL
6. Uzbekistan Airways | KUL-SIN-KUL
Has anyone tried the Ethiopian flight to SIN? It can be booked online from the airline's website. The Uzbekistan flight on the other hand could not be booked online so I am not sure if the service is still available or otherwise.

Just discovered that Emirates will be doing Bali-Auckland vv from 14 June 2018.

Airports are learning from the UK - where the APD is set at ridiculous amounts - that air passengers are soft targets. HKG is also charging pax for the 3rd runway construction and SIN has just copied their example. KLIA is raising their charges almost annually. So, don't be surprised if some others will come up with more ways of extracting more revenue from air travellers!
However, it is not a free lunch. One day, all these charges will become unsustainable for pax to bear and traffic growth will begin to decline. Then the party will be over!
A recent example when the party is over:
Ryanair is pulling out of Glasgow Airport terminating 20 flights, 300 jobs and 500,000 passengers at the airport. All because of a £13 APD at the airport, which the airline described as excessive. The Scottish government has been promising to abolish/discount the APD but promise remains a promise and the airline is fed up so bye bye.

Opening 29 October 2018.

Photos stolen from MW member Yusoff hahaha.
Again congrats to PEN on this huge feat!

The news as reported from the Australian side:
-
MAB's first appearance in LHR on day 2 of the A350 operation on 16 January 2018.

Thanks for the video Flee!

KLIA's 2017 full year figure is released.
KUL handled 58,517,000 passengers in 2017, up 11.2% from 2016. Let see how this fares in the world ranking. KUL was at no. 24 in 2016.

Oh so the regional run is officially ended. Congrats to those who managed to fly the fleet.
-
MH 4 today (Monday, 15 January 2018) was the first A350 flight KUL-LHR.
MH 1 today (Monday, 15 January 2018) was the first A350 flight LHR-KUL.
I think videos and photos from LHR will be emerging soon.
MAC was sent for the first mission, which is not surprising since it is wearing the Jalur Gemilang special livery.
MH 2 today (Monday, 15 January 2018) was operated by A380 MNE.
I guess MAB is still doing the regional run.
-
Random rants on this latest flip-flopping:
1. Where MH is going to fly all those aircraft? 6 A380, 6 A350, 6 A332, 15 A333.
2. The chance of BKI and KCH getting the A380 during festive periods is now escalating. Oops, just remembered. Both airports are not A380 capable.
3. I wish MH can pay the lease of the A380 as "pay as you go". Of course, there is no such thing.
4. This seems to suggest that the A350 is a mistake when it was in fact brought in to cover a mistake (A380).
5. This also seems to suggest that Project Hope is not economically viable since the very beginning.
