any Lion Air B739ER today Norman?
was thinking of going to KUL this afternoon but decided to go to SZB instead. had to temporarily suspend KUL spotting for the moment (too many disturbance from the BULISMAN). BEREDAR team is the least to be worried about, its the BULISMAN that is really annoying.
-
Good catch, Liew. Red car under the tree? See MMK landed ahead of the Lion?Roger that Capt, saw MMK landed....
p/s: Are you going spotting on 1/01/09?
-
anyone spotting tomoro hehehemight be going, very early in the morning. afternoon maybe hang around SZB...
I'm fed-updon't give up without a fight yet bro...
-
Victor, were you inside the tape line?the tape was only put up on the other side near the ILS. the side where there's a bunch of trees (usual location for afternoon spotting) are not taped so technically that area can be enter, right? according to the puhh-lissman, the surrounding area is restricted, so that mean, the taxis, buses, cars that's using the perimeter road IS TRESSPASSING INTO THE RESTRICTED AREA!!! AND WHY ARE THEY NOT CHASE AWAY BY THE PUUH-LISSMAN???
-
Now they(pulis) make me stay away from KLIA :finger:well Simon, I'm having the same thought as you do. this afternoon I was at 32L treshold, within less than 30min I was visited by a pulisman wearing t-shirt but driving a patrol car and he asked me to leave the place. really damn cilaka....
as a result of the chased away, I miss Lion Air B739ER landing..

weather looks good in KUL yea, Walter.
New Year 2009 spotting anyone?

That's how it works at AMS: spotters cooperate with Police (look at MAN - same way) and the latter even put up signs with a phone # to contact when something suspicious is seen/spotted; it's really the other way around here: spotters are police's eyes and ears and not the other way around - is police there permanently to check/see 'terrorists' ?SIN would be nice (fantastic traffic)...SZB too quiet IMHO: I suggested PEN instead
Hi Pieter...is that right??? Wow..yet another compelling argument to support aircraft spotting. And these are major world cities even! As I have mentioned, even in MEL it is allowed - I have not seen one security car along the (outside) perimeter road the many times I've been there, despite the fact that that road actually goes to the MEL ATCC. Just out of curiousity, in AMS and MAN, can you get as close as we do at 32L undershoot at KLIA?well Pieter, over here in Malaysia a.k.a BOLEHLAND, its the other way around. anyone (that include you and me and any commoners) who report such things as suspicious activity, would be the one that get arrested instead of the actual culprit and would be held captive in order to assist investigation.
so the only way to continue with our hobby, it will be a cat and mouse game. maybe i'll buy one of those 'gully suit' (usually worn by army sniper) and wear them when going out spotting in KLIA.

The PULIS are what should i call stupid, every patrol officer got their own opinions :finger: They are not treating us as Aviation enthusiats but terrorists. During the Christmas day spotting, the patrol car rocketted to our direction and block our cars. WTF, can't they judge who is good or bad??If possible let's have our 4th Ann gathering at Changi jkjkjkjk
lets do it in SZB instead.....
-
maybe the 'beredar' guys or the PULIS or whatever you guys want to call them, should build a barricade or a retaining wall there. better still, they should have construct a permanent wall there or a much better effort is to seal off the road permanently. then they should pass a bill in the parliament prohibiting any person(s) from taking photograph of aircraft, train, ship, cars, buses, bicycle and any moving object which is deem to be a treat to the national security.
damn stupid lah this people..don't even know how to judge what is a treat and what is not. to them everything is a treat to the nation security unless if there's some sort of payment or 'duit kopi' then it would be otherwise..F***

don't be surprised if one of this days, there's a temporary closure of the PLUS highway or the East Coast Highway for military exercise...
correct me if I'm wrong, it was mention once sometime ago in the 1990s that some stretch of the PLUS highway could be turn into temporary military airstrip in case something really, really bad happen to the several AFB but never heard of it got mention again.

first the not so honorable minister had screwed up the youth ministry, now she (or is it 'he') wants to screwed up the tourism ministry.
or is this another issue to boost her (read 'his') image for the up coming party election next march.

New player may win Shell heli deal
MALAYSIA: New helicopter service provider Awan Inspirasi Sdn Bhd is close to securing a deal worth MYR100 million (US$30.6 million) a year from Sarawak Shell, according to Malaysia's Business Times. The company is in the midst of finalising talks with the oil company and is expected to commence its service within the fourth quarter of this year, the paper said quoting sources. Awan is likely to work with Canadian Heli Corp. to provide the services. The offshore air transportation sector is now controlled by Malaysian Helicopter Services Sdn Bhd.

SQ will be flying those A330 very soon, with the unfortunate event that happened to AKX brand new A330, for sure SQ going to scrutinize their soon-to-receive new A330 from top to bottom.

for patrol/surveillance/reconnaissance/monitoring duty, it would be better done by a fix wing such as Airtech CN-235/Lockheed P-3 Orion or even better a C-130.
while for SAR purposes, better to have it done by using helicopter. to purchase an amphibious to do a maritime duty, well, to me its a bit unwise.

just curious, isn't SIME DARBY a GLC where the immediate shareholders are..(well, try and guess who?) and the biggest shareholders are..(well, guess again?). to me it looks more like a PUBLICLY funded project rather than a PRIVATE funded project. anyway, its just my 2 cents....
