  1. What kind of statement is this?

If the government wants the SLIGHTEST chance of improving its current image, it should be carrying out initiatives such as this as well as others related to other industries.

Are such exercises classified as Top Secret? I'm sure many kampung-folk around Gong Kedak get a free show whenever the jets blast up into the air...and they sure don't have T.S clearance.

to add to those kampung-folks in Gong Kedak, those staying near Kuantan, Butterworth and every other air bases around the country too get to see free show.

  2. congrate guys, hopefully when more people know about this hobby, they will understand that plane-spotting is the same with other hobby such as fishing, collecting stamp or even climbing buildings. let it open the eyes of authority too, which all this while was really overzealous of our hobby. maybe those BUlis are jealous because we're having huge camera...heheheh..

  3. got this bird at ipoh airspace this morning.about 9.00AM.i think it is qantas' a380.

    p2220002.jpg

how come ipoh airspace so blue haaaa...

got Qantas Dugong overfly ipoh haaaa....niceeeee.... :clapping:

A380 Capt: Ladies and gentleman, this is your Captain speaking. If you look out of your window, we are now flying above the constitutional-torn state in Malaysia. :finger:

  4. KUL is interesting as its more centralized but on the other hand, its becoming a nightmare to spotters. :diablo:

SZB is more spotter-friendly but traffic is very unpredictable and damn slow and boring. ::8P::

KCH & BKI, well, logistically too troublesome and traffic is as good as SZB at times. ::8P::

PEN logistically would not be a nightmare but having a large group gathering at any spot along the airport perimeter would definitely be inviting =@ ....

anyway, as Capt Radzi said, anything outside of KUL, its a bit difficult to say at this moment especially for those who got other commitment at hand...

  5. its funny that our local company are considering/willing to sponsor team outside of Bolehland instead of sponsoring local sports body. if AK want to sponsor MU, well, its OK with me. but if TNB, well they better don't complaint that they're not making profit everytime they want to increase the electricity tariff and at the same time splashed out hundreds of million of RM to sponsor a football team hundreds of miles away from our shore.

  6. I think a POTUS will use KLIA. You know, all the "kawad" (ceremonies) in front of Bunga Raya building.

That was long before 9-11, a different millennium in fact. It was a long, long time ago, in a place far, far away....

Whether he should or would come is not the purpose of this thread. But if he comes, I'm sure we all will try for a shot of AF1.

that is a must, Capt. its once in a lifetime experience if anyone is able to catch AF1 in KUL and better still if can get to see Mr President with one's own eye. but then again, it would be almost impossible to catch AF1 and its supporting a/c in KUL if Mr President really is coming to town. even on any ordinary day its tough enough to spot in KUL with Beredar & Bulis harassing spotters.

  7. Raj,

    Great shots !!! :drinks:

When will MAHB shorten/cut those darn trees ?

Pieter, cutting down those trees (oil palm tree) is not an option to MAHB/MAB Agriculture-Horticulture. at that sort of age, each oil palm tree cost no less than RM3000.00 and at the moment it is bearing oil palm fruits = $$$$. prunning (cutting) down the frond (leaves) won't help much as every 5 weeks new frond (leaves) going to grow.

  8. makes me wonder, since when does KUL become a target for terrorist? how is it that other airports round the world where terrorist threat is very much a real thing, do allow people to hang around the airport perimeter watching a/c land and take off? I had, a few weeks back, question a BULIS-man on why didn't they prevent buses, taxis and private cars from using the road as it is a restricted area, and his answer was....NO ANSWER!! #@*!&$^@*#&*@&(@*!)#*

  9. Tun Mahathir is replying to a comment on his blog about KLIA East by someone who claim he is involves in KLIA East construction.

    He claim.

    Is it true?

    If it's true..

How bad is the congestion at KLIA at peak hours?

During peak hours is it all 35 aircraft movement in use?

Could the current radar actually the hindrance behind KUL lack of progress?

Is the 70 movements radar ideal for KUL current traffic? or this is just another "bigger is better" mentality?

How much it going to cost MAHB @ the Government to upgrade the Radar?

Please shed some light on this matter?

if that fella really is involved with KLIA East@Labu Labi project, then he sure has got some serious arithmetic mixed-up for him to come up with such statement. in the first place how did the know that KUL has a wrong radar? or is he someone who has just got axed from supplying the radar system to KUL before?

  10. just my 2 cents Capt, since you have flown the B747 before, why don't you come back to the B747 fleet. its like...sirih pulang ke ganggang lah Capt. :p (anyone care to translate the last part). as for the A330 fleet, well, its just not your taste, very un-Canon like...hehehehe!

  11. Walter, your wish is granted far quicker than you can imagine. The A330 9V-STA is right now at KLIA and will return to SIN later this evening around 1730hrs at SQ3016. Could someone advise what it is doing at KLIA?

    KC Sim

thanks for the info KC. unfortunately, weather in KUL is as mundane and gloomy as in TLS on SQ A330 delivery day.

there might be a few ultra-hardcore KUL spotters in KUL this evening, you'll never know...

  12. MAS has dealt with this kind situation many times. As long as the pax showed violent act such as fist up, the cabin crew can restrained the pax after a verbal warning which obviously was not done. A deportee will normally be escorted on any flight. I can guarantee that the capt was not informed of the situation.

the Capt of the flight should have been informed earlier of this hostile passenger by ground crew of the departing airport, am I right? and again by his flight crew, correct? before the hostile passenger even board the a/c, there must be some security officers escorting him to the a/c and thus would have create attention by other passengers & flight crew. my point here, MH ground crew should have taken the necessary action in giving the bugger suitable seats in the a/c. i don't blame the flight crew in such instances, its the ground crew that's supposed to be responsible. to make things worst, no immediate action by Customer Service is really, really, really bad.
