Great. That must be the first time an A330 landed at SBW. Hope someone had taken photo or video of it.

Arrived at SBW from KUL last night and MXX has already left

I have no problem to select free seat for business class on MH operated flights, but on any code-shared flight operated by other airlines, I can view the seat map and select the seat, but unable to 'keep' the seat once I click on confirm & close button. They also changed my previously selected seats on this new website.

Manage my Booking function is back on MH website. Unlike previous website, you can view and modify your details now.

I noticed even the usually busy/ peak hours at DOH (between 12am and 2am) looked unusually 'less crowded' during my transit. I had passed through DOH several times within last 12 months and each time it was a lot busier, especially in the early morning. I really hope that QR could get through this very challenging time as soon as possible and not reducing the frequency to KUL. In the past few years, they consistently offered some cheap tickets between KUL and Europe. My return trip from EDI to KUL this summer was purchased in December last year, with less than GBP300 all inclusive.

I was on QR flights from EDI-DOH-KUL yesterday and the loads were very bad. On DOH-KUL flight, overall load was less than 40% on an A340-600. I wonder was this the effect of the existing air space ban imposed?

I believe to make KLIA a truly international aviation hub in this region, free inter-terminal transfer service must be provided between KLIA Main and KLIA2. Just look at all major airports around the world (e.g. LHR, PEK, GRU, CDG).

MH432 KUL to HKG today is operated by A380. Must be some surprise for passengers
-
SBW is reopened now. MASWing's morning flight from MYY was the first flight to land at SBW after the reopening of the airport. Other flights had been retimed to afternoon.

A local Chinese newspaper reports that Malindo will suspend KUL-MYY route from 19/4.

Chinese airlines offer some competitive fares from Europe to Asia and also take a good care of transit passengers. I got free transit accommodation from both Air China and China Southern in the past for long hour transit at Guangzhou and Beijing airports. Air China also offer free transit lounge at PEK for those with a minimum transit time of 4 hours. You can enjoy free snack, shower and dayroom in the lounge. Unlike many airlines, such as, Qatar Airways, where passengers travelling on heavily-discounted tickets do not get free accommodation, this service is available to all of their transit passengers, regardless of the class of ticket.

Good bye Trans Asia. I have lots of memory when I was in Taiwan, flying their A321 and A320 between KHH and TSA during the days when HSR was not yet materialised.

I traveled from KUL to KCH in December with MAB and got fried rice with beef. It was actually fried rice with a bit of dried beef powder (Not the taste of real meat). I can say MAB catering is really poor and whoever responsible for the catering services should be fired. Most airlines that I have traveled serve better meals than MAB, even Air China's catering was far better than MAB. MAB are now at the best 3 star airlines and I don't see any reason why people still continue to fly them if you can get better option (especially on international routes). They dig themselves into a very big hole in my opinion.

All airports in east Malaysia are suffering from drop in passenger volume, except Sibu; while airports in west Malaysia are recording strong performance. What a contrast.

TK is offering some very attractive fares from the UK at the moment for traveling to KUL. Certainly a serious challenge to Emirates, Etihad and Qatar. For passengers, a good news as more competition will drive the fares down to less than GBP400 for a return ticket, which you could not find in the past.

Air China has some very cheap tickets from LHR to KUL via PEK this Christmas. Only £393 return. Thinking of buying the ticket as they are usually very expensive few days before Christmas. However, just noticed that their A330-300 used between PEK and KUL have not PTV on economy seats. Didn't realise that there are still full service airlines these days which do not offer PTV for medium to long haul flights. Anyone has actually tried their A330-330? Any comments?

Dissappointed to see MAS will terminate the existing 2 daily Boeing service between KCH and SBW after more than 20 years in service, since the opening of existing SBW airport in 1994. We used to have 3-4 Boeing flights between the KCH and SBW everyday, plus more F50/ ATR service. I hope AK can increase its KCH/SBW service.
Era of free meals on short-haul flights to end: BA chief

BA used to serve hot English breakfast on domestic flights between London and Scotland and Northern Ireland leaving before 9:30am. They also served snack and drink for flights leaving the rest of the day before they decided to convert to LCC for all European and UK flights. Flying BA these days isn't anything special compared with Ryanair and Easyjet since they have done away with free meal and beverage onboard, seat selection and checked luggage. They are still one of the most expensive airlines to fly domestically in the UK between Scotland and London. I would just get on to other LCC if the fare difference is too significant.
