  1.

Thanks Waiping... Wonder what the reason is for that? Too close to the Jalan Kepayan perhaps??

For T1 traffics B738/A320 normally they taxi to taxiway Kilo, meaning full length runway used for Runway 02. Sometimes MAS B738 do what AirAsia does, request taxi to taxiway Juliet, so not full length used. Turboprops take Juliet most of the time! save fuel save time why not?

As for Runway 20, it is not often used. I only heard full length used by MAS B738 once to taxiway November, the rest normally to Delta. AirAsia & co of course, always to Bravo. Most traffic from T1 are used to departing from Delta anyway during the runway works at the beginning of runway 20.

So you don't really need to use full length runways for take offs most of the time. Of course there is a lot of factors to consider... and I am a mere amateur in this. If you go to Changi, the policy is all aircrafts taxi to the end of the runway for full length use, even though you are are turbo prop!. Takes quite sometime I remember!

  2. T2 probably does not have the stairs needed to board an A330.

indeed. T2 does not have any Ground Support Units for a 330. plus we did notice they Transport some luggage and cargo from T2 to T1 by using the small tow truck along the perimeter. but question is, how about the passengers? it still a myth.

    Ah ya also...

  3. Perhaps T2 not large enough to accommodate A330?

Perhaps. I think T2 has 7 bays for A320. Not sure how many for A330 if there are a few A320 already definitely not enough parking.

They must have informed the passengers that they will be reaching at T1? Imagine the confusion of friends/families picking the passengers of that flight. What? T1? Really? Sure? You flying AirAsia or not?

I didn't have the thought that AirAsia can upgrade their flights from A320 to A330 for KUL-BKI leg, like what MAS can do during peak demand. Must be some special reason and a one off???

  4. The government also announced the deployment of Hawk attack jets at Tawau.

Don't Malaysia have an air squadron in east Malaysia all this while?

RMAF is based in Labuan, which is not in Esscom area.

And the Hawk attack jets are indeed spotted at Tawau, please see Tawau Airport under Observation Hill.

  5. Helo to people in Sibu,

If you are living at a place with not a lot of obstructions at the surrounding (tall trees/hills/high rise buildings) and is interested to host a fr24 receiver kit please pm me. Stable internet connection needed. FR24 is working to improve coverage in Malaysia, I am just helping to spread the news.

Other locations we are keen also is Miri, Bintulu and areas around Kuching.

Specifically they hope to close the void for KUL<->LBU/BKI/TWU/MYYI/BRU route over the South China Sea. So if you are near the coast with a good view towards the sea you are most likely to be approved if you apply. Pm me for any queries.
