Some shots from Townsville and probably some preview of what you gonna get when Thunderbirds visit SZB early next month.
They are here for the Defence Force Air Display which is from 26-27 September 2009. Like what MIR mentioned in the Thunderbirds post, two C-17 Globemaster III and a KC-10 tanker are here for support as well.
KC-10 tanker plus DHC-4 Caribous on the ramp.
Two USAF C-17 Globemaster.
Thunderbirds lining up nicely in front of KC-10 tanker. Awesome looking KC-10 tanker.
Thunderbird tails. My mate onboard took this shot while I was taxing out for departure to Mackay.
One Thunderbirs which took off for practice before our departure. Damn ... they are fast. And a bloody distraction for this bugger here.
Sorry bout the photo quality. I wasn't in command of the camera all the time as I was part of the tech crews.
Thanks for viewing. Cheers.

The view was rather shocking as we descent thru the dust storm. See nothing outside. I had feeling that i was descending thru latte, teh-tarik, and milo-O.

A few more aerial shots for Chaity. Enjoy!
And yes, Tony. It could be because of the Lear.
Crusing at FL340 enroute to Mackay.
Visual left downwind for Mackay rwy14.
Final for YBMC rwy 36. Sunshine plaza can be seen and the suburb further away is Mooloolaba - somewhat like Miami beach.
As you guys may already know. Part of NSW and QLD are experiencing a terrible dust storm. The shot below was taken this morning at FL350 enroute to Tamworth.
ILS missed approach at Tamworth and diverted back to YBMC.
Roger roger.... Shiok right do Circuits in the L45. Wait till u do T & Gs in the 777 or A333....... tats even more brain freezing !!!
Can't wait but let me enjoy flying the Lear first.
Thanks for viewing. Cheers.

Some random selection of photos over the past week.
Jetstar newest A320 (VH-VGZ) - 3 months old.
VH-SQM bath in warm rising sun. Getting ready for a sortie up north, which was also my first observation flight.
Crossing Pioneer River on approach to Mackay rwy 14.
'The Australian' - this paper has a dedicated aviation section every Friday.
Dutch lady in Alliance color.
Took this at Coolum beach - rescuer in a matching color aqua-suit.
This KingAir B200C with a big blink is dedicated to uncle Norman. Good looking color IMO.
Will do Kian hong, awaits yr Sim photos.
I overflew abeam MCY this morning on the Coral 4 Departure out of Brisbane. Superb view from the Capt's side, any of your pals doing circuits this morning at Rockhampton? Think we saw one Lear departing Rocky area while we cruised by at FL360.
Colin, you gotta be patient with the sim photos. They are pretty packed these days.
Yeah ... there was a CCTs sortie at Rocky yesterday. I did mine today. I feel that we are the luckiest bunch of peoples around. T & G with Learjet 45?
Thanks for viewing. Cheers.

Wow ... EY's 3 point landing.

Was rather disappointed with the F-111 dump n burn last nite, too much smoke from the fire works. Other than that, a very enjoyable and awesome nite.
Anyway, caught this Skytans Dash-8-100 with Northern Pride decal while picking up the rented car.
Thanks Colin. Will request jump seat on my way back to SGP. See you on Seat 0K.
Here a photo of the LR45 sim. No photo inside the sim yet.
Cheers.

Not always blue, but i would say about 80% of the time.
We had some special movements today. First up was this butch workhorse of RAAF. This aircraft type has been serving the RAAF for over 45 years!
To finally step into a Caribou and see a working Bou cockpit was just amazing! Took this pix in complete darkness.
Two instructors of the college brought their aircrafts here too for the movie nite.
Immaculate Tiger Moth. Just beautiful.
DHC-1 Chipmunk.
Then, this 2 meters long RC Eurofighter Typhoon. Powered by a 35lbs thrust micro jet turbine and run on JetA1 too.
Thanks for viewing. Cheers.

ahhh ... the infamous Scrape My Tail.

Thanks Min & Mir. Here's two more caught in the afternoon.
MCY is where the authorized Cessna maintenance hangar based. So one get to see quite some Citation jets in n out of MCY.
Sea World was here again in much better light.
Thanks for viewing. Cheers.

Walking down the long row of Aeromil maintenance hangars and saw these.
Cessna Citation VII (VH-DHN)
First time seeing a Piper Malibu (VH-TSV). Pretty good looking piston prop.
Then saw this ex-AirNorth Embraer EMB-110(VH-FNP) without engines.
Catch of the day - 'BlackHawk 219'. Sorry bout the backlit.
Enjoy and thanks for viewing.

Good stuff man ... So many C-17s passing thru PER.
Nice fan blades shot. More photos please.

Hmm..quite interesting movements at YBMC Love the Learjet in SQ colors
Is the Cathay Pacific Flying college based at Maroochydore as well? They used to have a VH-registered Learjet 45 in CX colors.
These LJ45s are going soon when the Mustang come next year. So I'll be 'snap snap snap' inside out.
Ex-CX LJ45, VH-CXJ was based in Parafield, Adelaide and it no longer carry CX color. Latest photo show that it has turned into 'CMS Air Ambulance'.
BTW, 'Toll Express', VH-TOX was here again this late afternoon for circuits. They continued with nite circuits after an hour break on the ground.

Wow ... the weather was
-
For once today, Sunshine Coast went to sleep. Intermittent sunlight the whole day due some passing showers.
Weekend seems to be the preferred time for regional airlines and GA operator from YBBN to do their training. And any spill-over traffics from YBBN to YBMC are always welcomed.
'Toll Express' was here this early afternoon for some VOR and assym training.
'Jetstar 788' from SYD was operated by 'Sea World' VH-VQQ. Paint started to come off.
Thanks for viewing. Cheers.

Where is that LJ45 ?
Here u go boss. You see them so often, they become ... But then, they are still a dream to fly.
VH-SQD and VH-SQM is white based color scheme.
While VH-SQR and VH-SQV still retain the SQ color scheme.
good luck for the Learjet training Kian Hong...your first jet flying. wow, best.
happy spotting.
Is the callsign "Raffles" for SQ Learjet training?
Thank.!!! Yup "Raffles XX" is the callsign. A combination of instructor number and aircraft number.

Great nose shots as always!
Ehh ... No BA 744 'One World'? They have like 5 of them.
-
Oh !!! GGF in new dress! Beautiful!
-
Thanks guys. Glad that I can share some pix from MCY. Nothing much really going on here.
Oh ... good thing is my room window facing the rwy 36 APP and rwy 18 DEP.
Wow, that 320 is really a rare catch; 1st time I see this livery !!!
N1BN also a regular at AMS - she is really roaming around...
Strategic is a rather new start-up airlines in Australia. Before this, it was operating a A333 (CS-TMT) for military chartered. Now it fly a A332 (VH-SSA) and two A320 (F-GSTR & F-GSTS).
Oh yes! I was quite surprised to see N1BN at MCY where BNE is just 20mins flying time away.
-
Some worthy movements besides all the usual virgins, pornstars and tigers. <_>
What a luck to catch this A320 (F-GSTR c/n: 436) wet-leased by Solomons Airlines from Strategic. Seen here intercepting the 3 miles final, then miss approach back to YBBN.
Beside the big Solomons on the fuselage, is the Solomons colored wing tips.
And add on to that, caught my favourite aircraft G550 (N1BN) inbound from Hamilton Island.
So this is the only specials I caught in YBMC, there's still the Seaworld color and Titan color.
Thanks for viewing. Cheers
