  2. A few special visitors caught today.

Kuwait Air Force C130 (KAF 325) with call sign KAF3206. Same type with the one currently at SZB?

    KAF325_WSSS_170110.jpg

Lion Air B739ER (PK-LFG) in 'Dreamliner' livery. I suddenly had the urge to sing Eminem's song "Will the real Dreamliner please stand up ... please stand up..." when I saw this arcraft.

    PK-LFG_WSSS_170110.jpg

Coca Cola Corp Gulfstream G550 (N676RW) from Davao. Anything to do with the World Cup trophy tour? But according to online info, the trophy only stop in Indonesia and Malaysia, not in Singapore.

    Thanks for viewing. Cheers :)

  3. Can any of the SIN-members advise 'group of people' not allowed on Changi Beach ?

The beach is public-area, right, so I would think it shouldn't be a problem...

I don't see a problem at Changi beach as it is a public place as u mentioned. Easily accessible by public transport. And lotsa peoples n families (many groups of people) go there during the weekend. Good for morning and afternoon spotting (gotta walk a bit).

  4. Btw your SQ goodies are with me. Perhaps we can meet up soon for spotting.

My flight back on SQ321 was delayed for more than 12 hrs due to technical problem with the aircraft. (SKJ) Tell you more about it when I see you.

    Goodie ... ;)

I thought the delay was caused by the snow storm sweeping across Europe. QF32 was delayed too on Friday I believe for 2 hours.

    See you around. Cheers

  5. Some shots taken exactly a month ago after an early morning flight back from PER. Met Charles Ryan Teoh there at the T3 central apron. :drinks:

First target appeared when it taxied along WP1 for rwy 02L departure back to Mumbai.

    VT-VJL_WSSS_071209-1.jpg

Grass cutter stopped n looked as this giant Kingfisher taxiing pass. Would be damn funky to watch this bird from there. :pardon:

    VT-VJL_WSSS_071209-2.jpg

Hudson Fysh (VH-OQB) as QF32 back to SYD.

    VH-OQB_WSSS_071209.jpg

    SQ workhorse were busy too.

    9V-SWG_WSSS_071209.jpg

Quite surprised to see a EK B77W with blue engine cone. Later found out that this is the newest aircraft on EK B777 fleet and EK had since become the largest B777 operator in the world with 86 B777s. A6-ECX was delivered 12 days earlier when this photo was taken.

Glad that AK sent some specials to SIN city. :yahoo:

    Thanks for viewing. Cheers. :)

  6. Hehe ... i am thinking of going up north this year. Better still, please all are welcome to SIN city. ;)

Got BBQ pit by the beach, but i don't think anyone will bother when metal birds seen crossing the beach.

Apologize for the big OT. Cheers

  7. This would be an expensive option IMHO as it involves different airlines and alliances:

    SIN-FRA-JFK-MIA-SXM on SQ-UA/Star Alliance...

    SXM-AMS-SIN on KL/Skyteam

Better stick to one Alliance; just had some excellent experiences on CO recently, and their fares were a real 'bargain'...

How about SIN-SQ-FRA-SQ-JFK//EWR-CO-SXM then SXM-CO-EWR-SQ-SIN ? MIA will be omitted, tho...

    or.....SIN-KL-AMS-KL-JFK-DL-MIA-AA-SXM then SXM-AF-CDG-AF-SIN ? ;) AA=OneWorld ofcourse...

Thanks Pieter for the suggestion. I have searched thru a few sites. Traveling from this part of the world to SXM is too bloody expensive even with staff travel discount thrown in. Not mentioning the accommodation on this 'rich' island. <_>

  8. Oh we were on the same flight. Forgive my curiosity but I am really intrigued. What has led you to guess that I was in 62A/C?

I think i saw you sitting on that part of the economy cabin, I maybe wrong as I stood near the lavatory waiting to freshen up before landing.

Before this become grossly OT, I would like to share some nose shots. Dedicate these to T Azahan - Happy Birthday again.

Which nose job do u like? French? Brazil? Or the Dutch one? :pardon:

    VH-FNE_YPPH_041209.jpg

And RFDS entered Jet Age with this Hawker 800XP2 (VH-RIO), sitting quietly at the GA apron on this hot hot sunday afternoon.

    Thanks for viewing. Cheers. :)

  9. G'day everyone. Did anyone get 9V-STH (operating SQ225) landing in YPPH around 640am on 3 Dec? Quite a rough approach and landing. Left engine could be heard spooling up again and again on very final approach.Asking since I saw Greg's pix taken at 608am with reasonable lighting. Was there a strong crosswind that morning? Thank you.

Yeah there was some low level turbulence from the Darling range looking at the TAF from that day. I was at seat 34K and i supposed u were seat at 62A/C? :pardon:

  10. Returned to the world most isolated city for a few days for some sunshine (Got lotsa of it :pardon: ) n plane spotting.

My main target for this trip - ANZ wingletted B763. Landed on rwy 24, thus no landing shots. So I have to content with lining up shots.

    ZK-NCK_YPPH_061209.jpg

The others in the following are just bonus captured under the great bright sunshine of Perth.

Garuda new color B738 (PK-GMC) look especially good in such good light.

    PK-GMC_YPPH_051209.jpg

The newer Thai A330 powered by RR Trent 700, looking good in golden light.

    HS-TEN_YPPH_061209.jpg

Skywest has been doing really well I think, adding more Fokker 100 to their fleet n order of A320s. Btw, these Fokker 100 only cost around 2 mil USD to buy. Skywest fleet comprise of nine F100s and seven F50s. This is their latest - VH-FSQ with no tail logo.

    VH-FSQ_YPPH_061209.jpg

QLink B717 looking good on final rwy 21.

    Thanks for viewing. Cheers :)
