Finger getting itchy after inaction for sometime. Since I can't join the fun at WMKK, so there I went to Viewing Mall, WSSS T1 on Sunday. Plane Spotting n studying at the same time.
First catch of the day, Air India - Your Palace in the Sky, leaving.
Skippy.
Planes from the Land of Rising Sun
Another visitor from India.
Sneeze sent the long T7.
Another AI arrived 2 hour later after the first one left.
Valuair came in with a borrowed nose. They start to put the dimmer on. <_ src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v485/kianhong/VF_9V-VLB_WSSS_070812.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image">
Last dish of the day, say "Swiss Cheese!!"
Sorry for the image quality, heavy cropped, bad lighting and shot thru big 'filter'. Next stop, CHANGI BEACH!!!
Thanks for viewing.

I guess this is the May 2007 issue of SILVER KRIS u guys are talking about. I nicked my copy onboard SQ117 from KUL-SIN , thought that it would be a good read about SIA. Hehe... didn't realize that it is such a hot item over here.
BTW, I wanna point out that the cover photo of the commemorative issue is taken by our Singapore MWinger - KC SIM. Photo on the content page also his. Bravo!!

Today, 9th August, is Singapore's National Day as Singapore celebrates 42 years of independence. To mark such a momentous occassion, what better way than a mammoth subjectShe came!!! And I was studying at bunk!!!
Nice pics, Hoe Jyh! Thanks for sharing.

Was told by a friend working in QF that the new logo is designed partly to accommodate a large 'no paint zone' at the leading edge of the horizontal stabilizer on A380 and some of the newer generation a/c which has narrower tail fin. It is designed such that the Roo doesn't look amputate by the horizontal stab. I think the little 'plastic surgery' done on Skippy looks OK to me.
These are what I found, quite some mixed reactions:-

The gold band that runs from fin to bottom of fuselage - did that go with this revision or was it deleted sometime ago ? Bad bad memory and little attention for details nowadays I fear !The golden stripe is gone in the new logo. Here's a pic on a.net to illustrate the disappeared golden stripe :

:yahoo: Happy 2nd Anniversary, MalaysianWings!!! :yahoo:
missed all the fun.
Soon to be goneSorry OT - Jalur Gemilang has just landed in WSSL on 1635hrs, coming in for maintenance before handing to Indonesia or Thai AK?? I guess she will be gone for good.
-
Good gosh!!! Look at ur reflection, Han!!! Spanking new plane! Still can smell the fresh paint?
Hats off to all the MWings Jokers and Happy Father Day!

Oppsss... MIA for weeks.
KC Sim, very nice photos from ST Aero hangar. Thanks for sharing them here. I reckon that the Asiana A321 is still inside the hangar and saw the Learjet 45 flying in and out of WSSL on a frequent basis.
TK, there are always some test flights going on in Seletar. Just that I couldn't seem to catch them.
Here's some more from Seletar.
This Air Bagan Fokker100 was parked outside of Fokker Services Asia's hangar waiting for maintainance check.
Then, opposite Fokker's hangar is Hawker Pacific hangar with all sort of bizjet n prop.
Royal Thai Army BAE Jetstream 41. Prepared for delivery flight back to Thailand.
Parked right across the Jetstream 41 was this US-registered but with a tiny Malaysia flag bizjet. Rego was blocked by engine cowling, but look like N468BF to me. Anyone have info regarding this a/c?
Regular visitor to Seletar. Air Gloha's An-26
And... this one!! Antonov 2 own by Batam Logistic. Cute but very slow climb and cruise. <_>
Oh yeah... I know I need a zoom lens fast.
-
Woohoo... Kwek! Superb pix under superb sunlight!! :good: Lotsa varieties of a/c!! Keep them coming.
Pieter ... Look like you had some serious fun in SIN. **happy** **happy**
I think I shall spend sometime at Changi over the weekend.
-
Had my first spotting session at Seletar last weekend. Very different traffic from KUL. Consist of mostly single engine from flying clubs, biz jet, and regional jet that come in for maintaince at ST Aero hanger, saw quite a few AK's 737 in the hanger.
For the early part of the morning, only saw these 2 single-engines doing circuit training and touch-n-go. Boring ....
The only plane from Singapore Flying Club - Socata TB-9C Tampica Club.
Then, Piper PA-28-161 Warrior from Singapore Youth Flying Club. BOOOOO.....
Then, out of no where came this fast approaching biz jet - Hornbills Skyway's Angkatan Tentera Malaysia. Cessna 750 Citation X - currently the world fastest civilian a/c capable of cruising at Mach 0.92. Extremely fast for such small a/c.
4 pax according to ATC, wondering who was onboard and what they were doing in Singapore. Sarawak Chief Minister?? Anyone from KCH can provide any info?
Following Citattion X was this awesome Beech Super King Air B200.
That's about what Seletar have to offer. I'll try to go again n stay longer ... to catch that Antonov 2 operated by Batam Logistic, airliners n biz jet that come for checks n servicing. I will try to post more pix whenever I can find time.
Any advice from local spotters? Time, location and security wise? I heard that the authorities are pretty paranoid regarding plane spotters. Is it true?
By now, some of u guys must be wondering what am I doing in Seletar. No prize for those who guess it right. Yup, I was accepted as cadet pilot with Singapore Airlines going thru my ground school at Seletar. Sorry for keeping things underwrapped for such long time. It has been one week after OBS, the pace of ground school starting to pick up speed. I'm sure it will be a tough n busy one. Yeah, I met up with Sandeep too.
I wish to thank our boss here - Gavin for such a great site. Naim for introducing me to this awesome site and all the active members especially uncle Pieter, Norman, Capt Radzi, TK, Leech (for ur inspirational entry), JK, Chaity, Yong, Azahan, Kevin, Raymond, the BKI gang etc for all the nice photos, advices, comments, inspirations n friendships.
Thank you!

woo... cantik n superb light !!
-
Serious ah!? Tak nampak body pon. (Didn't see the fuselage also).
-
was told by the MAHB big boss that the new location for the permanent LCCT is as below...most prob. will start for construction after 2012Huh!! This permanent LCCT is sitting right on the big outdoor carpark (for spotter, we usually go around this carpark when going to spooky spot) ?! Looks like spooky spot could be in jeopardy.
IMHO, Pan Pacific and Cowboy town will remain there as the Pan Pacific is located between ATC tower and the outdoor carpark, while Cowboy town is further to the left (not in image).
It would be interesting to see a/c taxing to both runway via bridges. Hehehe... Let's wait and see.
-
Thanks for sharing.
Indeed an important milestone to be remembered.
-
The font Firefly used look like one used by a local english music radio station. huh?
Nice tail, but a bit too bland on the fuselage, isn't it?
Thanks Gavin for sharing!!

SQ's ads for Cadet Pilot appeared in STAR on December 16, 2006.
AFAIK, SQ has their Cadet Pilot first interview for the above mentioned ads on most of the weekends in March.
Now SQ has opened application for Cadet Pilot in South Asia region (i.e. India).

Heres some of my shots from the EAST COAST....My favourite pose...with NYC skyline in back (sorry the haze was a bit much even in 25' F weather!)
Raj
Wah!!! Great coverage from both East and West coast ... Thank you, Jian and Raj!! :good:
Love that beast's shot with NYC skyline... Look at that wing span. Thanks again!
P/s: FOD = Foreign Object Damage. Stuffs could be sucked into the engine when it's too close to side of runway, and reverse thrust will stir up some these stuffs. I looked it up in Wiki. hehehe...
-
Thanks again guys!!
One more ... I was hoping that there's a kid standing infront of the jumbo with his on hand on glass panel. ** dreaming to fly the big plane when he grow up** Hehehe... wishful thinking.
-
Thanks guys for all the nice comments.
LeeCH... there so many office of urs in Changi, which one do u fly most often??
-
Kianhong,Love your KUL/SIN shots a lot; it shows some different aspects of both airports
This shot would make it a great promotion-shot for SQ
Thanks Pieter!
I wish I wasn't shooting thru a big piece of glass. ** flare ** flare ...
-
Only 2 reverse thrust deployed? Presumably 1 on each side.
-
You can also see a different kind of bird at Changi's T2.
Push back...
Engine Started n ready to go...
Look!!! Who's here lifting off from Runway 02R.
Ehh... mandarin orange. Opps... Mandarine Airlines. This A343 was formerly in China Airline paint.
Then, I walked all the way to other side of contact pier just to get the shot below.
Cold empty lounge with the huge jumbo behind.
Suddenly, saw this fella push back. Going to Newark, perhaps? First time for me to see a A345.
Prior to my plane push back, they switched runway to 20L. And I crossed path with this SQ B773 - Yankee Delta.
Didn't manage to catch any B77W though.
-
Thanks SAM...
On my way back...
When you look at the tarmac of Changi Terminal 2, you will notice that this is a land of Boeing 777. Semuanya ada...
SQ is the world largest operator of B777, current 65 in fleet.

Kwek! Awesome close-up pic of SFB in golden light!
Pieter: I believe it's in Changi. I thought I saw her landing in Changi last sunday.
No wonder I didn't hear him coming and out of Seletar for the past few weeks. Changed base already?
