  • From its peak of 40 airframes, current A330-300ceo fleet stands at 32 with 1 pending for delivery HS-XTM for Thai AirAsia X.
  • Rumour is swirling AirAsia X will return more A330-300ceo to lessors as Vietjet has picked some ex-AirAsia X airframe to launch their mid-long haul destinations.
  • AirAsia X has rejected lease for 7 A330-900neo which have been completed and stored at Toulouse, France.

It looks like AirAsia X is on target to reduce their fleet - but I think they need to get rid of more planes because their flights have not resumed due to to Covid-19 not going away anytime soon. Update:

9M-XXS MSN 1533 and 9M-XXT MSN 1549 have left KUL on 8th May and 13th June 2021 respectively to MNL, for heavy maintenance at Lufthansa Teknik. Hopefully just regular visit.

XXT is in Xcintillating PhoeniX Livery, will be a waste if they remove the livery.
