Penang (WMKP/PEN) 2013.

Recommended Posts

First visit to PEN yesterday, albeit a short one.

Sat just off the approach to Rwy 04 as usual to see two Air Asia 320s lining up for a Rwy 22 departure. 'Harimau' passed over the top.

Then drove up to the bus stop to try and get some shots from there but no luck. Back to the terminal area and saw N721FD sat in front of the tower.

Inside the terminal, which is still not completed, saw that there will indeed be an Anjung Tinjau in the finished building.

Good shots, Laurie :good: It's rare to see a FedEx on the western side of the airport...sometimes i do see MASkargo A330F parked on that spot on some evenings.

Thanks MIR.

Quite often in the mornings the FedEx A300s park in that spot before being moved elsewhere.

Must get down and catch that MASCargo 330 soon.

Nice shots. Good catch on the new Air HK aircraft.

I'm still not sure about the new AA colour scheme.

Spent a few hours just off the approach to 04 today. Had some good light to start with.

Hi laurie > was Saudia # 9351 a one -off? Thanks for catching it and sharing. Where you get the info?

Hi Peter. I think SV9351 was a one-off; possibly Umra flight?

I got the info from MIR's posts # 14 & 15 above.

MIR, The Voyager must have left just after I did. I was at the airport until 11.20am. The aircraft didn't seem to be going anywhere then. I should have waited a little longer to catch the take-off.

I did manage to get one shot of it parked near the MAS cargo area.

Parked in front of the tower was the Italian AF KC767A, 62226, that brought the Typhoons from Leuchars. That took off at 11.15 and seemed to be heading south. Subang?

What a big surprise! Fantastic shots, Laurie! :good: Behind the KC-767A looks like a Socata TB-10 (9M-JEG).

How exciting, lots and lots of nice movements around the country this month :yahoo:

MM62226 "IAM1423" climbed to 35,000ft heading south west to Male. I guess the guys from down under will be the aerial refueler during the exercise this year, most likely the VC-10 ain't coming like 2011.
