Bangkok Children's Day Airshow

Recommended Posts

Since this year's Bangkok Children's Day Airshow will be the last one to be held in Don Muang, so i had decided to head North for this special event... and to get rid of the wet weather!

ERJ-145. Like AirAsia's fleet, she is being utilized to the max. so you will see her so many times in one day. Beautiful colour though smile.gif

Fast forward.................the year is 2008.

Date: 12 Jan

Location: Cargo Apron - Don Muang

It's the Children's Day Open House again....

Entrancetoairshow_DSCF0493_reducedc.jpg

The morning fog threw the flying program out of the window.........it only cleared around 9:30 a.m.

The static display consist of the usual suspects.... the only change being the addition of Pink NOK and HS-TAA.

HS-TAA_frontal_100_3533_hi10_reduce.jpg

Thais young and old came out in full force

Crowdline_100_2811_hi10_reducedc8.jpg

Backlit for photos.......nothing much really

goonybird_100_2836_hi10_reducedc8.jpg

What's the purpose of coming to an airshow and then find shade under an aircraft???

This F-16 buzzed the airfield before landing.

The arrival of the F-16s and F-5s provided the entertainment for the morning - highlight is the F-5F with special markings celebrating 30 years.

It was difficult to squeeze in for quick shot

There's another interesting F-5B at the museum at the other side of the airfield.....this was taken the previous day.

70101_RTAF_F-5B_firstF-5B_100_2669_.jpg

This was the very first F-5B........ 44 flying years..amazing.

The airshow isn't the only thing of interest. I hung on till the late afternoon.......I want the "new" NOKS!!!

Pink NOK HS-TDD was at the static. When she was pushed out for departure, it provided a photo opportunity.....ramp photography at Don Muang!
