As always, great catch Prestley. Thank you for sharing. If there is an award for the dirtiest and ugliest airplane in this post it would go to RYA and the cleanest and most beautiful M54-04, why.. because she is just stunning to look at  :air_kiss:

Oh you'd be surprised! RYA isn't the dirtiest I've seen. Wait till you look at their 727s! It's like a chimney blew soot all over it!

Good post GeO....

Thanks bro.

If you say DPS only during holiday seasons then I guess it would be feasible. Otherwise we know very well what's gonna happen.

With wide-body equipment of course! hahaha. KIA is capable of handling. If not use wide-body it would be a waste.    :db:

Just noticed this today; Hehe. Sorry about that Prestley.
It was AK6469, 9M-AQZ
Geo managed to snap my flight, and he also uploaded it on The Spotters FB page too.

Snapped this shortly after arriving at KCH on 5/05/2017. Geo had managed to snap a photo of my flight approaching KCH that time too.

Been quite a while since I last spot at KCH, seems to get lots of good traffic recently. Man, look at the size comparison of the three different types of plane, the legend 747 is massive! Thank you for sharing with us Geo, great shots as always.

I give this picture priority upload because it's Tamizi's flight from Sibu. Other pics before this I'll upload when there's free time.

9M-AQZ with Tamizi onboard.

On the 5th of June, the inaugural Kuching - Pontianak - Kuching flight by AirAsia took off bearing the flight numbers AK1028 and AK1029 respectively. Although I wasn't present for the pleasantries and welcome, I managed to get some photographs of the flight which was operated by 9M-AQO, a new addition to other 3 Kuching based aircraft, replacing 9M-AQF a few days before.

AK1028 pushed back from bay 9 a few minutes ahead of the scheduled 11.55am departure. It would then take off from runway 25 at 11.58am via intersection A2.

Very nice of the crew to take A2 instead of the usual A1. Light load perhaps? If anybody know what the load was on that day, do share.

The return flight, AK1029 landed a few minutes ahead of schedule despite the delayed departure from Pontianak. Coming in for runway 25 with a visual approach. It then parked at bay 9 with the airport AFRS ready for the traditional water cannon salute.

Wow, and I thought only new airline arriving for the first time on scheduled flight gets the water cannon salute. Nice, what was the load like? Seen from the local newspaper images that miss Aireen was really enthusiastic about it.

Starting 29 October 2017, Silkair is transferring its SIN-KCH-SIN services to Scoot! That's a service downgrade because Scoot has merged with Tigerair to take on the latter's IATA code of TR. Thus, from November onwards, we will be seeing Tiger Airways' aged A320s in Kuching; downgraded to a budget airline instead of a full service airline :(
