Looks like a wonderful boss to work with.

He promises PAIN, FEAR and MISS-INVOLVED.

And he seems to know what is waiting for him in Subang/Sepang - talking about stick to the truth, logic, sense of urgency, change of management, decisiveness, leadership by example, local culture, staff union, corporate culture, micro management and refresh code of conduct.

Obviously a very smart and brainy guy (if not he won't be speaking in Judge, University of Cambridge).

But he needs 5 years.

Good luck.

To the uninformed, Christoph Mueller is the new CEO of Malaysia Airlines. The first non Bumiputera in the history of mankind.

Mind divulging more on why your ex colleagues are ex colleagues after meeting Mueller if they had positive first impression?

Are they not listed by the New Co?

Or they are ex colleagues because you left the sinking ship?

I left in November - now selling instant coffee & ice cream for a living.

To resurrect mh involve a new fleet mix and new aircraft order need over 5 years to complete delivery, Mueller will need over 5 years to complete his task but according to some rumour his contract at mh is unlikely to be renewed for the 3rd term.

I received an alert from MH's top management to correct an info in this thread.

Christoph Mueller is not the first non-Bumiputera to hold the position. The airline's first General Manager (which was in effect a CEO then) held the position for 10 years and he was Tan Sri Saw Huat Lye, a Malaysian Chinese.

So that makes Christoph Mueller the first non Malaysian CEO of Malaysia Airlines in the history of mankind.

Told you I'm fabulous.

Chris, please reduce the number of MH liveries to just one. Many customers are either confused or wonder where the consistency is.

Please also get rid of the ridiculous half cropped Wau logo of the hybrid Swoosh / A380 blue livery... and please bring back the full Wau logo.

first thing although very "minbor" to him and not even notice it - is to wash and clean up MH planes esp the 330s and 777s - their fuselage is often dirty esp towards the back section and around the tail section. just saw another dirtied 330 last fri. it doesn't give passengers a good feeling to see its planes like haven't been wash and cleaned for a long time - although it is not a safety issue.

He shared his views on the image of MAS, and felt it was not tarnished, though the damage was more on MH with the word being linked to the two air disasters, eg MH370, MH17.

“Perhaps MAB will have a new coding when it takes over to give the new airline a fresh start,” says an aviation executive.

Since Malev has shut down - can MAB request the MA code from IATA?

Why would you want to do that though? I think MSA's previous IATA code was ML and now it is used by Midway Airlines Inc.

VA was used by other airlines and then it was taken by V Australia. (Virgin Blue's IATA code was DJ). Since the amalgamation of several virgin brands down under into Virgin Airlines, only the VA code has been used by extensively by them.

Not good omen to take a defunct airline's code.

Airlines like China Airlines, Korean Air and Air France have far worse safety records yet none of these carriers change their IATA code. And both China Airlines and Korean Air are still going strong and profitable business entity.

"MH" had been synonym with those veterans and aviation enthusiasts in Malaysia land. Just because of two major disaster, airline code need to be changed. I hope it will maintains though. MH is not just airline code, it is Malaysian Hospitality.

Don't forget Singapore Airlines too...

However, I do think that when they launch the newco on 1 September, they should have a new livery for ALL their aircraft. Having three liveries show that its branding and marketing strategy is somewhat confused...

The bulk of CI, KE & AF's accidents happened when the world was not as connected as it is today...

If we take how the "wau" is painted on the tail, the colour of the all blue coloured wau on the A380, and the colour of the wordings "Malaysia Airlines" (some red and blue, some all bule), it does seem like MH is having an identity crisis.

Most people wouldn't know airline code. It's something they don't bother about. They know Malaysia Airlines as Malaysia Airlines. Changing airline code is unnecessary. Might be better to change the slogan Malaysian hospitality to something else and campaign from there.

I thought MAS already changed the slogan to "Journeys are made by the people you travel with"?

Hardly can find the slogan "MH is Malaysian Hospitality" nowadays..

I would think they should part ways from any previous marketing tagline and create a totally brand new marketing campaign.

Previously it was done very well, maybe not the last one......as we move on to new chapter, we should leave whatever had happened behind....

Malaysia Airlines......a new beginning takes flight.
