Passengers became suspicious when they allegedly heard slurred words and unclear announcements from the cockpit

Two Indonesian budget airline bosses have quit after video emerged of a pilot allegedly showing up to fly a plane while drunk.

Footage showed captain Tekad Purna, a pilot for Citilink, appearing to stagger through a metal detector at a security checkpoint at Surabaya airport in Indonesia.
The pilot repeatedly drops his belongings onto the floor, prompting security guards to pick them up.

Give him credit to have been able to find his way to his seat in the cockpit :)

I'm wondering if anyone challenged him before his PA address (which apparently was what gave the game away for him) - which would presumably have been quite well into proceedings already. Did his co-pilot not notice anything of concern ? The cabin crew did not notice nor worry ? Those security prrsonnel didn't think twice ?

He was ex-QZ, accumulated close to 5000 hours with them. Dismissed because of similar incident but during that time, a cabin crew reported to operations which then cancelled the flight. He was found to have ingested some sort of psychoactive drug prior to the flight

Had a long discussion with my cadets this morning in the classroom as to what they will do as an FO if they suspect their Captain of being intoxicated.
