Pieter C. Alderden, or we fondly call him Uncle Pieter, has passed away today in his home in Netherlands, after battling long illness.

A jovial person and loves our tropical sun. One cannot miss his presence in the spotting crowd as he is always turning red under the sun. That's why he was known as the Red Lobster.

He was our member #22 and a strong supporter of mwings. For the past 11+ years, he has contributed a lot to the community and hosted some of us in Netherlands.

Therefore, in memory of this man, please join me to pay tribute by sharing some of your memorable pictures of him (whether spotting, over dinner, etc) here.

Let us not forget our dear friend, Uncle Pieter.

For years we have heard his insights and comments (very jovial ones) here on mwings. Thanks for the good times, Uncle Pieter. Never got to meet him in person but definitely have enjoyed our encounters online.

I am shocked and sad. He was one of the pioneer members of Mwings.com and contributed alot. I still remember him giving advice to me to study well so I can travel to many places as he did during his lifetime. Truly dedicated man.

A sad day indeed...

I had the pleasure of driving him and Mai around when they were in Kuching!

A kind and cheerful man!

My thoughts and prayers are with him and his family...

Rest In Peace Pieter. Thanks for taking me around AMS and the viewing area at the terminal and the bay by the runway to watch the take offs. It was an awesome experience, albeit 13 years ago.
