FlightMemory Thread

Recommended Posts

Hello there,

FlightMemory is a useful tool for one to keep a log on their flight details. Based on the details, it will draw your route map, and comes out with amazing statistics of your flight details. I found it better than the excel spreadsheet I used to keep for my flights log. Since signed in, it is the first thing that I do (to record my flights in the website) everytime I returned from a trip.

The website can be found here. Membership is free. http://www.flightmemory.com/

I hope for those who have an accounts there will share their banners in this thread. Here are mine.

My details. http://my.flightmemory.com/9MMAR

It will automatically changed when you logged on new flights, so no need to post multiple times here in this thread, I suppose.

I just want to share some news from FlightMemory Administrator which was sent today (27 February 2008).

FlightMemory is collaborating with EK and guess what, EK has blocked 16 seats exclusively for FlightMemory member on their inaugural DXB-JFK flight on 1 October 2008. This is not a contest but a special discounted travel packages.

1. New FlightMemory-trip: Be one of the first to fly an Emirates A380!

Call it the merger of an idea, a great plane and a reknown service oriented airline: Emirates is offering FlightMemory 16 seats on the very first A380-flight!

After the first commercial flight of an Airbus 380 with Singapore and the great report our user Steve had sent us, ( check it out here: http://www.flightmemory.com/press/ ) we tried everything to make this possible. Now, FlightMemory users can opt to be on the first A380 flight of Emirates from Dubai (DXB) to New York (JFK).

And of course we put together more than one option. So you can either fly to Dubai in a 77W and be on the really first flight of an A380 of Emirates to JFK or you can opt for a full trip with the A380 (from JFK) or fly from Hongkong to Dubai or book hotels in Dubai or in New York, or...or...or. Actually, we will of course do everything you desire - just ask us.

But now - just click here and see for yourself: http://www.flightmemory.com/A380.shtml Be sure to login to register, though. We do not want to allow non-users to book!

Also, I hope more MW members can register and record their flight log in this website. The more Malaysians there, the higher the chance our map can be included in the 'Domestic Map' feature. Membership is free. It's sad that most of us has to use other country's map as our 'Domestic' map (Germany in my case).

2. 40,000 users worldwide - FlightMemory growing

Yes - we are not the fastest growing site in the Internet. But we are growing steadily and the best part is - we are free of having to meet the expectations of any third-party investors - so we will stay, who and what we are: Fair to our users in terms of privacy and open about all issues.

We now (today) have more than 42,000 users worlwide and FlightMemory is growing even faster than our German site FlugStatistik. The top countries: Germany (17.000), US (11.000), Austria (2.000), Switzerland (1.500), UK (1.500), Italy (700), Poland (600) ...and of course many others - alltogether our users originate from 145 countries.

Good one :good: Can actually act as my backup log book in case I lose mine ;) Wonder how long it would take me to fill up my 737 multiple sectors in there.

Afiq, perhaps you can assign someone to fill in the logs for you?

joining the club...

Kader, where's your banner? Share la.

me too!

Chai, may I know why you separated 'Malaysia Airlines' with 'Malaysian Airlines System'? Was it to distinguish the old MAS (red white livery) with the new one (red blue white grey livery)?

here's mine

Bennedic, I think your profile is not set for public viewing la. Whenever I clicked on '/penguin4', it will be directed to the main FlightMemory page. Would love to see your details.

Hopefully more MW members will register at FlightMemory. Chow.

Yes. But I always wonder if this is necessary. Technically they are the same airline... :pardon:

OK just posted mine below.

Am I the only one here to have pre-1998 SZB in the airport list? I feel old now :)

Tarmizi, Zaki,

You need to change Profile>Settings to activate public viewing coz we cannot see your maps + flight statistics.

I've joined in.But why the Malaysian map is not available?

The Malaysian map is not available because there are only a few members from Malaysia I suppose. FlightMemory is an offshoot from German's FlugStatistik website. That's why we need more Malaysian members. They have Brazil and Australia in the 'Domestic' selection now, so more countries will be added. Indeed, it will be great to have Malaysia's map in the 'Domestic' map selection and South East Asia map in the 'Regional/Continental' map selection.

Mr. Chai, I think it is up to you since it is your list. But, if I were you, I would combine both, so Malaysia Airlines will have a greater total i.e. 74 (40.4%), rankings for British Airways, Go FLy, Royal Brunei Airlines and Olympic Airlines will be up by 1 and a new airline will fill in the 10th place.

Wow Keno, you are going places! I have SZB in my list too but it didn't make it into the Top 10 Airport list.

Zaki and Tarmizi, I think when you post the banner, you'll need to add '/your FM username' at the url so that whenever we put the cursor on your banner, it will lead us to your details.
