Thanks for the update Flee.

With 47 aircraft delivered to Malaysia in 2014, 2015 is going to be quiet in comparison. Just two aircraft delivered so far this year.
Does anyone know what deliveries Malindo has planned in 2015?
Geoff

Yes, deliveries in 2015 will slow significantly as the MAS orders are largely fulfilled bar the few ATRs and Twotters. The Airasia Group deliveries have also been postponed but we can get a bit excited for the future as they will be receiving NEOs.

I am not sure what the Malindo deliveries will be but they seem to be operating on a slow and steady pace. The Lion order book is huge and aircraft placings are quite flexible. So if there is a need, I am sure Malindo will get their required deliveries.

Next two Malindo Air B737s soon to come off the production line and be delivered.

9M-LNQ Boeing 737-8GP MSN 39857

9M-LNR Boeing 737-8GP MSN 39863

These two will bring their 737 fleet up to 10 aircraft. With 11 ATRs their fleet will have grown to 21 aircraft in a little over 2 years.

flee,

Have you got a listing for all the D7 A333's which are currently leased out?

I know -XXA is on lease to Flynas and -XXJ to Conviasa.

Think some are also doing RUH-JED services wet leased out.

I came home on -XAA yesterday morning on D7 236 and that hasn't flown since arriving back in KUL.

They appear to the naked eye to have a lot of surplus A333's parked around KUL too.

Hi Tom,

Sorry but that kind of information is hard to come by! I do note that both A343s and the A332 are no longer around and XAA should be gone by 3Q2015. D7 are also trying to sell two of their delivery slots this year.

At their AGM, they mentioned doing more wet leases in 2H2015. One would expect them to be to Saudia and also to Haj operators. Not sure if the Air Algeria summer lease will continue since they are getting their own brand new aircraft.

Yes, you can see quite a few A333s parked at the remote stands and also the stands beside MASKargo terminal. I think D7 has found out that, at the present moment, it may be better for the bottom line to park the aircraft than to fly them.

How was the load on your flight?

Hi flee,

I was in row 50 and the rear section of the plane was fairly full, I didn't see many spare seats.

It looks like -XXA and -XXK are both currently leased out to Flynas and -XXJ to with Conviasa. The 2 with Flynas don't appear to be overly active.

I also believe -XXM has gone across to TAAX, although I have a feeling it's might be carrying it's 9M rego, so that's the last of the ex KA A333's gone.

Tom,

Yes, XXM is operating DMK-CTS flights for XJ as the Japanese civil aviation authorities are not allowing Thai carriers any more new flights due to the ICAO finding problems with the Thai civil aviation authorities.

XXM is also painted in the new livery but with white engine nacelles and red Airasia logo (AK style).

Will -XBA and subsequent deliveries be the new 242t variant?

If they are contemplating re-launching long-haul services, their added range may be beneficial.

I don't think D7 needs any 242t aircraft since their longest route (KUL-JED) is well within the capabilities of the existing aircraft.

It is anticipated that they will be relaunching long haul services to Europe only after their A330-900s are delivered. It would make more economic sense to use more fuel efficient aircraft for these routes.

Anyone know what's going on with -XBA as it's still yet to be delivered ex TLS?

Stored, possibly leased or sold prior to delivery maybe?

I think XBA will be taken - probably awaiting financing. They are taking new aircraft on operating leases this year.
Not sure about the rest of the aircraft though: MSN 1646, 1659, 1670, 1674 are already in the production line.
It would also appear that Airasia Japan v2.0 will receive their first A320 soon. MSN 6702 Reggo JA01DJ.
