I'm a full time workaholic, part time alcoholic and occasionally a chocoholic.
  1. yeah you're right. now it's a security concern... well, Malaysia Boleh (once again)!
  2. There will be a new Golden Lounge in BKI. This is because the airport authorities do not allow the sharing of the lounge for Domestic & International passengers. All is not finalised.
  3. The MAS lounge in Heathrow has been moved to T4. The rennovations of the lounge will be completed by end of September but the opening might be delayed until October. It will be the MAS Signature lounge. It will have some elements of the Regional Lounge in KLIA but not of the same design. Should be looking good.
  4. I can definitely find out for you. The interior designers are the same and I think it would be almost the same concept. No worries... I'll hgo scoop some insider information. Lol...
  5. Well at least the liquor selection at the MAS First Class lounge is still good! And the food was not too bad as there is a constant change of menu. You can read my recent review here.
  6. Nope. It's always been Piper. I think Bollinger and DP is only for the platinum lounge for the Enrich platinum members
  7. No worries. Well, I wasn't actually relating that I was receiving or giving perks/presents. The perks that we suppliers give to them are in form of sponsorship for their events and thus not 1 or two person benefits but the whole company as a whole. As a supplier for food, we did regularly visit the lounge for feedbacks and occasional checks. And at the same time, for all the appointments we had, we usually do it at the lounge. It is better than do it outside where we have to patron other eating outlets and then later claim on the company again. Suppliers are not getting any perks except for a free meal or two at the lounge provided you know the manager. Not everyone can be permitted to enter without the knowledge and authority from the manager. I'm sure there's a cctv to monitor the flow of customers and the manager of the lounge is looking at the expenditure of the lounge vs the ticket sales from MH first/business class! Although I might not agree with what you say, I defend to my death your right to say it. Everyone has different perspective and mine is no different either. I'm looking from my industry's point of view and you're probably representing the consumers/IJ's point of view.
  8. Well that depends on how you define the "curi2 makan" category. In the first place, aren't they customers as well to be able to have access? How often are they doing it? I can understand the feeling of some parties that are devoid of such pleasures. Remember, we all know that there's no free lunch in the world. Thus in order for us to gain a favor, we have to give something. That something again depends on whether is it beneficial to MAS. You'll never know if it is. Don't everybody always throw in names to get invited to parties/events?!! It all boils down to the same thing - people might get jealous but that's life.
  9. I understand what you're trying to say. In the first place, I am not misusing the lounge. I am there for a reason. I don't simply go to lounges, sit there and enjoy myself. It's not all take and no give to MAS. Being a supplier, I think we give more than we take from the customers sometimes. Moreover, we are also their customers when we take business/first class flights. This are all parts of good PR. It might cost them a Bollinger/Haagen Daz today, but getting RM10-20k of air ticket sale from me this Friday, isn't that a small fee to pay?
  10. I don't think it's Datuk IJ's cost cutting exercise but simply they don't want to put up with Haagen Daz's frequent price increases. They have so far increased their price a few times. I think the price that they are paying for now is exorbitant.
  11. Haha I do like Rum n Raisin Haagen Daz & Baskin Robins!
  12. Haha but Smirnoff black label is kinda ok. Absolut is nice on the outside but when compared to Grey Goose, it's nowhere near la. That's my opinion. Even the price of GG is triple that of Absolut. But I collect Absolut bottles! Their marketing is good.
  13. Thanks. I've been always tasting wines and whiskey. However Champagne happened to be one of my latest interest. I'm still learning.
  14. I have to say that I'm not really good with Champagne. But I can certainly tell that DP and Bollinger are still my fav choices. Of course when they are offered for free, it tasted even better! Haha.... Bond drinks Bollinger, so it has to be good right. However I disagree with his choice of Smirnoff because Grey Goose totally rocks! But his choice of Chateau Angelus 82 was pretty good too. They are not serving Bud's either.
