Flight MH135 pulls emergency landing for Aussie in labour

Malaysia Airlines today did the country proud when flight MH135 made an emergency landing in Bali after an Australian passenger went into labour.

The Australian Associated Press (AAP) reported Bali's Ngurah Rai airport managers Angkasa Pura and Herry A. Y. Sikado as saying that flight MH135 from Kuala Lumpur to Brisbane requested a priority landing today as the pregnant woman was "about to give birth".

Not taking a negative angle on this, but what does it to do with making "the country proud" ?

 

It would of course be something else if MH had arranged chamgpane or a 5-star hotel buffet for their passengers upon diversion

Not much information from the piece of news. Usually it is not advisable for mum-to-be to fly during the first 3 months and the last 3 months of their pregnancy. Maybe she conceal her pregnancy well?

 

Also, does diversion like this cost the airline additional charges i.e. charges at DPS upon landing? Also what if connecting passenger need to be re-booked on connecting flight? Does the baby still entitle for free flights?

Premature. 4 months into pregnancy. The baby didnt make it. Maswingers can start discuss changing SOP for flight diversion for MH....
