It's about time, a good call there.

With the new business class seats on the A330, the A380 to LHR, the KLIA Golden Lounge was left as the weak link. Still interesting that they're focusing on the domestic lounge first though, maybe because it's smaller/easier to execute?

When the airline has made press statements that it will relocate all operations to MTB, why there is still a need to refurbish the Satellite lounge?

And that lounge and the domestic one have just being refurbished. How many refurbishment does it requires?

Sounds like a monkey business to me along the line of latest rumour about the real reason the B744 was reactivated. MH is really 1 very f*up airline.

If you read the article and if you actually look at the MTB in the mornings, you will realise that there is just no place to park A330s. And one or two 738s also end up at the satellite building. So take the earlier announcement with a grain of salt...they probably meant move MOST rather than ALL ops to the MTB.

As for the last refurbishment to the lounges, it was obvious that it was a stop-gap measure with really little refurbishment done. Real work is required to uplift the lounges.

But probably far easier to execute some lounge refurbishments than completing the MTB extension at either ends.

Also, I heard Malindo will also have its own lounge. Not sure of the location though.

The golden lounge refurbs at KUL seemed to have been delayed given the earlier stated Sep start date. I wonder if that is due to the change in the Chief Commercial Officer?

It was a pleasant surprise to see the "closed" golden lounge at T2 Changi all boarded up with the works "Work in Progress" and the MH name & logo prominently placed all around the boards.

I had really thought there will never ever be a Golden Lounge at SIN after the closure...just like in LGK, JHB etc.

It seems that MH may re-open the lounge with the new look & feel. Through the frosted glass walls, one could see that the whole interior was being ripped apart, with carpets and other fixtures being removed. It certainly cant be renovations for a new tenant given the MH logo/name displayed all around the boarded area. The client has to be MH.

This could be the first MH lounge with the new layout/style.

Maybe the title of this thread needs to be amended to include SIN?

Promising signs of a rejuvenated MH?

MH will be switching to dnata for their ground handling services in SIN w.e.f November onwards.

wonder if it will be a shared lounge because DNATA don't have a lounge a lounge at T2

The hoardings have MH logo and name all over. So unlikely to be shared although the lounge may accept other pax through bilaterals.

Any other OW operator flying out of T2?

No. QR and UL are in T3 while the rest are in T1.

Seems to be still rough around the edges with dnata for MH at SIN. Dnata even had the cheek to say MH mobile boarding passes not accepted at SIN gate ...when it was fine just a few days ago. Need to smoothen out the wrinkles during this early period.

Lounge was still SATS premier as of yesterday....

And that refurbishment of that ex-MH lounge at SIN...it seems all the hoardings have been removed and now it is left as simply an empty unbranded place with nothing in it.

Just in the SATS premier now. You're right - the MH branding is gone. Asked the agent and the deal is dead - someone else is taking over the space

Wishful thinking - is MH planning to move to T1 by any chance? That's where most OW operators are and would definitely make connections easier.

First officially revealed here ... http://www.malaysianwings.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=20717&page=2

it was delayed, probably due to the departure of that Chief Commercial Officer.

Now it is said that it seems that the project will finally take off in May this year, starting with the Satellite lounge and then the domestic lounge. The latter will close throughout Ramadhan.

I hope it's more substantial than the annual paint jobs refurbishments they've previously done
