Time flires and it is 2019 already - Happy New Year to all at Malaysian WIngs!

2018 was a busy delivery year - this is the final tally:

What can we expect by way of deliveries in 2019?

We should see the arrival of A321Neo at Airasia Group and A339Neo at Airasia X Group.

As for MAG, we are still waiting for the first B737 Max delivery but no dates have been announced yet.

Malindo/Batik Air might get some new aircraft, but this is dependent very much on its parent.

Lets wait and see what happens!

Did AirAsia X finalise the decision on the A321Neo? Or all a321neos will be heading to AK? Haven't seen any reports confirming or denying that.

AirAsia X is thinking about A321LR!

100 A321Neo are fix ordered for the "normal" operations.

Did AirAsia X finalise the decision on the A321Neo? Or all a321neos will be heading to AK? Haven't seen any reports confirming or denying that.

At the 2018 Farnborough Air Show, Airasia X signed a MoU for 34 A339 Neos. Until now, this MoU has not been firmed up. Many reports indicate that Airasia X might not go ahead with the MoU now because it is considering the A321Neo XLR instead.

AK's order for A321Neos was made at the 2016 Farnborough Air Show and is firm - deliveries are scheduled to begin this year. They will be in high density 236 seat configuration and will be used on routes where slots are limited (e.g. HKG) and increasing capacity without increasing flights is something that is desired.

Both airline groups have a different purpose for the A321Neo - lets see what comes out if it!

Q1 deliveries are usually a trickle as the airlines are still "digesting" last year's capacity increases.

Here is the 2019 tracking spreadsheet:
