  1. Yes, agree with all the comments on here about this tragedy. I was due to go spotting today for the first time in 15 (fifteen years), to EGKK with 4 friends of mine. After watching the video I telephoned them all to say I had to pull out of the visit for the time being, I could just not face it seeing those awful pictures. Regards to all MWingers David.
  2. R.I.P. to all the persons on board this flight, this week has not started very well at all.. David.
  3. A very sad day,, R.I.P. to both of the crew. Regards, David.
  4. Yes, quite agree with that, see my post in Sunday Spotting with the Star Metro to see what we used to do. Regards to al MW ers,, David.
  5. Yes, been following this article with a lot of interest having in the past been a very keen spotter myself. One thing that has occured to me, back in the 1960's when I used to go spotting at LGW , in those days there was a special area that was set up on the airfield at a strategic "spotting" point that consisted of a fenced in piece of ground and a small wooden hut specially set aside for spotters. It was certainly nothing too special ,but it enabled spotting to be done much more easily and without a lot of fuss from the English Bulis,, oh yes we have them here to even to this day. The one difference was that ALL SPOTTERS had to be in possession of a pass that was issued by the Airport Authority after vetting the applicant to see if he or she; yes we had 1 girl spotter :-) were bona fide and the pass had to be carried AT ALL TIMES when entering the enclosure. I had to ride my cycle some 35 km to LGW and on 2 occasions I forgot my pass,, oh dear!! Even the fact that I was very well known there, made no difference, I was politely told no pass, no get in, and then I had to cycle the 35KM back home. Needless to say I did not forget it afer those times. SO, I was wondering, if a similiar thing could possibly set up at SIN.. Regards to all,, David. P.S Bona Fide=Genuine Spotter.

  7. Also, what is the translation of the Malay word Kuala please?..
  8. Yes, got to agree with you there ,Pieter I thought I was seeing things at first till I blew the picture up and there it was. I assume that it symbolises the link that is being made between Malaysia and the UK by airasia x.. Regards to all on the thread, David.
  9. Just enlarged that pic Bob, spotted Malaysian flag on the port tip and Union Flag on the Starboard hee hee !!
  10. Very well done, Bob like the Union Flag on the tips there, and now we wait at this end for the first flight out from Stansted on the 11th of March ,, bet the spotters will b out there in force for that one. David.
