While at the my area mosque today,i've seen a Umrah Package brochure (For the period of 2/05-9/06/2010) by TH Travel & Services; Looks like the flight is operated by Oman Air.

Here's the itinerary from the brochure:

WY824 (KUL-MCT)
ETD:0810am (M'sian Time)
ETA:1040am (Omani Time)
Aircraft used:A332

WY671 (MCT-JED)
ETD:1630pm (Omani Time)
ETA:1850pm (Saudi Time
Aircraft used: B73J

WY672 (JED-MCT)
ETD:2005pm (Saudi Time)
ETA:0005mn (Omani time)
Aircraft used:Boeing 73J

WY821 (MCT-KUL)
ETD:0105am (Omani Time)
ETA:1205nn (M'sian Time)
Aircraft used: A332

I'm not sure which type of 737NG WY operating for MCT-JED-MCT flight (since they have 2 737 and 13 738).

WY's return ticket from DOH-KUL via MCT is insanely cheap! Only QAR1460..that's like QR1100 cheaper than the MH codeshare ticket and QR1400 cheaper than the cheapest QR's ticket.

They also have some attractive introductory offer ex-London too. Return LHR-KUL via MCT all in for £408 (RM2,000), with good connections and all sectors operated by A333/A332's. Not insanely cheap but it offers probably the best hard products one can get for travelling between UK and Malaysia - new planes, slimline seat with 34" pitch, 10.4" PTV and mood lighting.

The official announcement about WY's new service to KUL.

Oman Air Adds Kuala Lumpur To Expanding Network
April 12, 2010 12:16 PM By Muin Abdul Majid

DUBAI, April 12 (Bernama) -- Oman Air, the national carrier of the Sultanate of Oman, will begin flying to Kuala Lumpur on May 1, with four weekly flights between Muscat and the Malaysian capital.

Kuala Lumpur will be the airline's 33rd destination and the second in the Far East, the other being Bangkok.

"This new destination will be a welcome addition to the ever-expanding Oman Air network. Kuala Lumpur has been a much-anticipated destination," said Oman Air chief executive officer Peter Hill in a statement.

Hill said he was positive that Malaysia would be a real winner with customers.

"This beautiful country, which seamlessly weaves in the true wonders of Asia, is as diverse geographically as it is culturally.

"Known to provide the perfect getaway for those who want to have a complete change of scenery, one can have a holiday of their lifetime by exploring the many splendours of Malaysia," he said of Oman Air's latest destination.

The airline boss said holidays in Malaysia would introduce Oman Air customers to what he described as "a fantastic travel and holiday experience".

The new route will be operated by Oman Air's recently introduced Airbus A330 aircraft featuring First, Business and Economy class seating.

Also in May, the airline will begin operations to four other destinations, namely Ras Al Khaimah and Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates, as well as Islamabad and Lahore in Pakistan.

MH has apparently code shared with Oman Air on WY's KUL-MCT vv flight and also several flights from MCT to AMM, BEY, DXB and KWI.

In exchange, MH flights will also carry WY code for MH flights from KUL to BKI, KCH, LGK, PEN, BKK, HKG and SIN.

As the statement goes - Ini yang tak syok nih. This is not fun as compared to getting the real WY here including BKI. :P

Isn't this a downgrade for KUL? No more dedicated non stop flight. Instead, it is a tag on from their SIN flight.

I have seen loads of umrah pilgrims on that WY flight, some of them are from Indonesia. After this, CGK wil get a direct flight & KUL wil get a triangular. Sure tiring for those pilgrims unless they have a layover in MCT.

Oman Air to recommence KUL-MCT non stop daily from 1june 2015, with immediate connecting to all European cities.
The current KUL-SIN-MCT will be replaced by this new pattern.

WY needs to join an alliance. It think they are the ME carrier that alliance makes the jake sense for as they are small but would plug rather nicely into an alliance particularly Star.

Are they offering F on the KUL-SIN leg?

I would imagine so, as it'll be odd for the SIN-MCT pax in F to change to classes upon arrival in KUL.
