MH website :

http://www.malaysiaa.../dark-site.html

Hope this is just an "internal test" that got into the media since no international media has aired this news yet.

'dark-site.html' -> funny name for a file

Dark site is actually the term used for when you have to put up a holding statement instead of the normal webpage.

Radar contact lost in Vietnam airspace and never made contact with Chinese air traffic controllers according to BBC.

How come lost contact at 2.40am and only now a S&R is activated? Some 5 hours or so later?

I would assume as normal practice that the flight will be in constant contact with towers along its flight path. And of course the conflicting report about the "landed" status of the aircraft.

I wonder if it was

weather

North Korea

or pilot error.

Regardless, hope they landed safely somewhere.

Someone mentioned the same thing on Facebook. It was due to radar issue.

Take it as a rumour. So far, no conclusive statement came from MH.

That would not fall into the "lost contact" category as I would have thought that the first thing you would do is to make contact with KUL or PEK when you land.
