Nice one Greg. :good:

Supposed to go to see the practice as well in Langley Park, but was called up last minute regarding inbound of Roulettes just right before I step into my car. Will post some photos of the Roulettes later in this thread. After all, they are here for the Red Bull Air Race.

Never knew the Pilatus had such a well laid-out cockpit: looks really nice :good:

Thanks a lot for sharing us with pictures of the 'team'... :pardon:

Since the front seat have most of the instrument, what is the role of the back seat pilot ? Judging from the picture, both seat should be having the control of the plane, am I right ?

Thanks guys. :D

Though the air temperature reported only at 20C with some strong wind, it was especially warm standing beside the 'team'. :p

No... Baim. No blood coming out of my nose. LOL

Affirm. Pilatus PC-9 is a military trainer with tandem seats, so I supposed they have the same instruments in the front and the back. I saw no different.

Kianhong,

Today's photos should be good starting off with the traditional 'meet & greet' with the pilots.

After that is moving around the langley Park for some different angles of the event.

Your photos just fantastic, and we may cross paths today!

Cheers Greg

The pilots participating in the Red Bull Air race World Series need to navigate a predetermined aerial racetrack, defined by Air Gates (20-meters tall air filled pylons) in the correct pattern in the fastest time possible. Any misconduct by the race pilots, such as departure from track, any form of dangerous flying or failure to execute the required flying pattern, results in disqualification. Minor mistakes are punished by penalty seconds.

The Racetrack..

Race pilots need to maneuver their plane between the Air Gates. The distance between the pylons of an air gate is about 10 meters. A race plane's wingspan is about 8 meters.
