US-Bangla Q400 crashes at Kathmandu

A US-Bangla Bombardier Q400 has crashed at Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport in Nepal.


The accident occurred at 14:18 local time on 12 March.


A source at the airport's NOTAM department says that aircraft was operating flight BS 211 from Dhaka to Kathmandu when "a technical fault" occurred during landing.


The aircraft is registered S2-AGU (MSN4041). The 2001-vintage model is owned and managed by US-Bangla.

Nepal begins probe of plane crash that killed 49, airline defends pilot

 

KATHMANDU (Reuters) - Investigators have retrieved the flight data recorder from the wreckage of a Bangladeshi airliner that crashed, killing at least 49 aboard, including the crew, when it attempted to land in Nepal’s capital, officials said on Tuesday.

Heard the Atc audio on youtube. Seems both atc and pilots are not sure on rwy 02 or 20.

This airport is not that great and could be improved. TK managed to write off an almost new A333 there!
