S M Tang, flee, thanks.

Was lucky with the weather today.

Had to process these on the laptop as the main computer is 'rosak'!!  Not too happy with the results.

Great catch LaurieB and light was superb.. :clapping: :clapping:

16/06/2014

Unlike the good light and clear blue sky in the morning, it was dull and cloudy with strong wind in the afternoon. Nevertheless, it was a busy afternoon in Butterworth AFB with lots and lots of flying and here's my take of the afternoon session....

Iwan, Victor A, Capt Radzi, thanks.

Victor A, nice shots.  Must try that area some time.

Looks like Rwy 18 im use yesterday afternoon.  I saw two F15s taking off from that direction as I left about 1.15pm.

Laurie, I Cant see anything

Raymund, not sure why.  The photos are linked to Flickr so should not be any problems.

Nice closeups. Is a long zoom required for these shots?

Saw a pair of F-15s flying overhead on the island, followed by a single Mig-29 a few minutes later.

Thanks SSLee.

I use a 70 - 300mm lens and for these photos it was used over that full range.  Some shots have been cropped even further in for closer detail.

Thanks Flee. Rwy 18 was active yesterday afternoon.

Victor A, nice shots.  Must try that area some time.

Thanks Laurie. Look for the swiflet "hotel" in the paddy field, good for afternoon shots.... :pardon:

Yes, but very, very hot! Sunblock will be necessary!

BTW, is that P3 from the USAF or the more usual seen RAAF/RNZAF aircraft?

Sunblock is not required as you'll not be standing under the hot sun, swiftlet "hotel" provide enough shade and some more its very, very windy... B)

The P3 belongs to the RAAF and there's a C-17 in Butterworth, most likely belongs to RAAF too.

Fantastic shots, Victor & Laurie! Is the F-22 quieter than the other jets?
I just noticed that they have detached the refuelling probe from Hawk M40-22
