DaTan 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2015 Aircraft rego is 9M-MTA (first A330-300 delivered to MAS) The aircraft had an incident in Melbourne last year where is was reported to have touched down too hard, causing structural damage. The plane was grounded for months to be fixed and eventually delivered back to Malaysia. Delivery back to Malaysia is painful and slow, plane had to fly at 13,000ft. with gear down (not sure why, I was tracking that particular flight as well)) and resulted in high fuel consumption. It had to refuel in Darwin before making it's way back to KUL. Since then I have checked and it has some flights to Delhi and Beijing and Auckland then it stopped flying. Tom/PER 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2015 It went back into full time service and was a regular here in Perth after it was repaired. Any chance it's being 'rebranded' or in maintenance?

Business Seat class upgrade perhaps for the A333 fleet so beginning with MTA? Just guessing.

BC Tam 2 Report post Posted May 5, 2018 (edited) Well, if you are to believe the MH folks at BKI, more specifically those managing their lounge there, 9M-MTA has now morphed (regressively perhaps ?) to a hitherto unidentified A300 variant Edited May 5, 2018 by BC Tam

There is also a cut-away model with seatings and etc. Along with a DC-10 IIRC? Just checked. 9M-MTA is flying and she is being utilised regularly.
