Mir, THat's near the TOSHIBA factory area. its a new area, not even in google map GPS road view yet. but hey, i found another spot. Waiping 12 Report post Posted August 18, 2009 around 3 weeks from now. Ya. First mission would be to look for the BBQ pit!
kianhong 0 Report post Posted August 18, 2009 BBQ pit tak syiok (not good) unless u like to wake up freaking early in the morning (like MIR do ) and have a long lens in the range of 300-400mm. Else I would recommend either gate 4 near domestic terminal or the mound at rwy 21 approach. These location need a small 2-3 steps ladder.
Min 6 Report post Posted August 18, 2009 (edited) Guys, I found out another area to spot. Its new for me. i dont know about others. SPOT AREA I: They call it "The Mound" Great spot if you have a close lense such as 28-90 for side on shots, or longer than 300mm for touch down shots. Be careful of snakes and other nasties in this area. Also carry ID with you if APS or other WAC staff question you, and be polite if they ask you to leave. SOURCE:Numloxx I assumed you have to walk to thru the bush to get here. SPOT AREA II: The other mound, good spot for Afternoon Rwy 21 arrivals. Never try this area yet.Would like to this weekend. Im not really sure where to park your car. I prefer free parking but been advised to be aware of the Clamping session. Another Spot for me, SPOT AREA III and IV. FREE PARKING GUARANTEED red arrows represent viewpoint Zoomed in SPOT AREA III: Tried that last week. good for approach RWY21 and you expecting this sort of photo lens between 55-200mm SPOT AREA IV: Quite close but different viewpoint. Side view. hope this helps. Edited August 18, 2009 by Min

Greg Wood 3 Report post Posted August 23, 2009 USAF C-17A 00-0172 arrived 15.40hrs ex: Townsville (QLD) as 'Reach 410' and departed to Diego Garcia (FJDG) at 18.27hrs as same. Checking thru my notes earlier today and was suprised to note that Perth has recieved 33 different visiting C-17 aircraft from when the first one visited way back in 2001. For the record we've had 30 USAF, 2 RAF, and 1 Canadian visit; only 3 USAF C-17s visited thus far have only visited more than once. Great photographs Min considering the weather here in Perth. Cheers Greg
