flee 5 Report post Posted January 4, 2013 2013 will be another year for lots of aircraft deliveries. Some highlights will include the delivery of the final 2 A388s to MH, the delivery of 3 ATR72-600s to FY and more sharklet aircraft to the Airasia group. D7 will finally get more new aircraft, now that KLIA2 is scheduled for a 2013 opening! MH's fifth A388 (9M-MNE) was spotted with full livery at Hamburg - it would appear that delivery should be anytime in the next month or so. CDG flights are scheduled to begin on 1 March. sweekee 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2013 What do less powerful engines bring to the overall operation? Less fuel consumption? Domestic flight use less fuel compared to region flight. Less fuel means less take off weight. Less take off weight dont need more powerful engines. And less power engines = less fuel consumption
Mushrif A 3 Report post Posted February 6, 2013 Domestic flight use less fuel compared to region flight. Less fuel means less take off weight. Less take off weight dont need more powerful engines. And less power engines = less fuel consumption And aren't landing fees based on weight of aircraft? So, lower weight = lower fees.
Peter Smith 1 Report post Posted February 7, 2013 Not all landing fees are based on weight (and if they are it is calculated on MTOW not actual). A lot of airports have adopted a price per passenger fee for RPT flights, and this is physically calculated on the number of passengers onboard (excluding crew) so in effect if one day you bring in 150 people, you will be charged 150 x whatever the price per pax is, and the next if you have only 1 passenger, you are onyl charged for one. Great idea to encourage airlines to stick it out through tougher times by immediately reducing their costs.
Radzi 2 Report post Posted February 7, 2013 Can expect MSA to arrive around 22nd of February. Domestic flight use less fuel compared to region flight. Less fuel means less take off weight. Less take off weight don't need more powerful engines. And less power engines = less fuel consumption Airliners always carry just enough fuel for the destination, so if a flight requires 5 tons of fuel to be carried, it will carry 5 tons. Doesn't matter if the aircraft can carry 10 tons or 20 tons of fuel. As for the reason of the different specs, you can take the S in the MS-series as Sapphire, and work out from there. Mushrif A 3 Report post Posted February 7, 2013 As for the reason of the different specs, you can take the S in the MS-series as Sapphire, and work out from there. So, why dont the management create another special logo - this time an all red wau for the -MS series to reminisce on the previous plan...
