Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted February 19, 2007 Russian Transport Ministry announced that nine airlines have been banned from operating charter and ad hoc flights to the EU. It said it barred the carriers following notification by the European Commission's Transport Directorate about the lack of control of maintenance and operational procedures. The airlines are Aero Rent, Tatarstan Airlines, Atlant-Soyuz, Aviacon Zitotrans, Center Avia, Gazpromavia, Lukoil, Russkoe Nebo (Russian Sky) and UTair. Bye-bye to the 'regular' YAK42 aircraft of Centr-Avia and Gazpromavia at AMS

Pieter C. 5 Report post Posted February 21, 2007 The Russian airline that I know of is Aeroflot (obviously ) Does EU really need to banned those Russian airlines? Maintenance standards there, are not similar to the ones of the Western world...why do you think, Aeroflot will have their C-D checks on the 767's done by KL ? AFAIK the C-D checks on the A320-series aircraft are performed by LH...correct me if I'm wrong...
