Daniel Ng 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2005 I know there are at least 4 different airlines from Middle East flying into KUL. Can anyone share which airlines and what are their frequencies like? I am aware that Emirates have recently changed their routes into KUL. All feedback welcomed.

kandiah k 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2006 I just came across this news article about GULF AIR and thought it may interest you people. Also, it looks like they are reducing their freq to KUL. Check www.amadeus.net. http://www.bernama.com.my/aviation_news/ne...=179216&lang=en Gulf Air To Start Direct Flights To Oman February 08, 2006 15:17 PM KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 8 (Bernama) -- Airline company, Gulf Air, will be launching direct flights from Kuala Lumpur to Muscat, Oman beginning March 28 this year. In a statement here Wednesday, Gulf Air said that the ongoing development of Gulf Air's network was in response to customer preferences for increased, non-stop and frequent access to growing business and leisure destinations and its expansion plan to popular regional and international routes. "With the growing bilateral relations between Malaysia and the Gulf in business and tourism, we believe that the time is right to focus on Muscat," said Gulf Air's general manager for Malaysia and Brunei, Lindsay White. "Business and leisure travellers now have a unique opportunity to fly direct to the Gulf from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, and avoid the need to transit via Bangkok, usually associated with journeys to the Middle East region," she added. The new Muscat service will start with three flights per week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Gulf Air is operated by Airbus A340 aircraft, where it also provides onward connections within the Gulf Air network that extends across the Middle East and Westbound to Europe. -- BERNAMA
Azuddin 1 Report post Posted February 9, 2006 i do saw Uzbek operates A310 to KUL once. I was told that the A310 used that day was the last A310 delivered. Anybody remember the OIC somewhere in November 2003, there's plenty of middle eastern coming in especially most of them are rare at KUL. most of the flight equipted with 747SP. I was on MH94 to LAX during that time, i saw at least 4 747SP at Bunga Raya Complex. I can't recall all of them but i saw one is Iran Air and one is Yemenia. Seth K 3 Report post Posted February 9, 2006 Not plenty Azuddin, but a lot! At least Middle East carriers recognize KUL, not like BA or QF! Now we lack of African, South African, North American and Australian carriers...............KUL is behind BKK and SIN
Azuddin 1 Report post Posted February 9, 2006 Not plenty Azuddin, but a lot! At least Middle East carriers recognize KUL, not like BA or QF! Now we lack of African, South African, North American and Australian carriers...............KUL is behind BKK and SIN KUL is stuck in the middle between two Star Alliance country. BA, QF, UAL, goes to both BKK and SIN. SAS go to BKK. just like i said before, we may see more if MH is in an airline alliance. example, if MH in Skyteam, we might see NWA and CO from USA, perhaps some more Euros like Alitalia, CSA and Air France. Daniel Ng 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2006 From the news, it doesn't say whether the BKK-KUL connection from GF is gonna be cut. Hopefully, the Muscat-KUL flight is an addition to the existing one.
