Tamizi Hj Tamby 1 Report post Posted December 10, 2017 Wow; my guess that NKG and FOC are seasonal routes?Glad to see KUL-CAN upgraded to 333, and KUL-NRT upgraded to 359.
Craig 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2017 Fuzhou and nanjing not well receive due to its unfavourable timings? Or subsidy ended Wow; my guess that NKG and FOC are seasonal routes? Glad to see KUL-CAN upgraded to 333, and KUL-NRT upgraded to 359. AFAIK, MH doesn't really do seasonal routes - they usually do it year-round (minus charters). The NRT up gauge seems like a placeholder for the 3 remaining 359s. 3 is required for the 2 daily LHR, 1.7 more for NRT (MH 70/71 is 5 weekly) and they still have 1.3 left. Even with a daily AMS, MH can still operate 1 daily AMS/NRT and 2 daily LHR plus a 3-5 hour regional turn (HKG?) with 6 359s. And of course MH hasn't updated its schedule for the ex-AB 332s which should free up even more 333s.
Craig 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2017 (edited) Malaysia Airlines A350-900XWB aircraft to serve Tokyo Narita from 05MAY18, Auckland from 05AUG18 Now I know where I can easily redeem my 50K AA miles for MH P class Initially thought they will use upcoming A332 for Auckland route. Hmm They never said that. AUBT speculated that but that was denied by a member here (whom I assume works for MH) Edited December 10, 2017 by Craig
Craig 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2017 (edited) A few more updates/corrections: 1) MH loaded its KUL-FOC/NKG schedules for Summer 2018. It seems like it won't go the way of WUH after all 2) KUL-CAN will be served initially by MH 333, but will switch to ex-AB 332 later 3) KUL-ICN will be increased from 10 to 12 weekly (additional day 57 ex-KUL and 16 ex-ICN on MH 38/39) 4) KUL-DEL equipment change from MH 333 services to ex-AB 332 5) KUL-DPS on MH 714/715 equipment change from 738 to ex-AB 332 (last summer was MH 333) Edited December 10, 2017 by Craig

flee 5 Report post Posted December 11, 2017 I think it is better for MH to deploy the A359 to Japan because first and business class would be better appreciated! I suspect that the yields are good for Japanese routes. It is probably more appropriate to switch AKL to the A332.

Waiping 12 Report post Posted December 11, 2017 HKG has had mixed fortune over the years, with everything from B777 to B738 and the seasonal A380. Now back to A332. Perhaps it has something to do with CX giving the route to KA, and MH felt that there is probably a chance to wrestle some market share by providing better equipment & service? From what I've read KA's service is nothing to shout about.

Craig 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2017 (edited) Based on the above, CAN, DEL, HKG, DPS will get the A332. Wonder which station wil get it next... DAC. 1st 332 will do CAN and DAC. 2nd 332 will do DEL and DPS. 3rd is currently scheduled for HKG only since it RON at HKG. Abandoned child ? Maybe they are going to the adopting agency and pick it back up AusBT suggests that the AKL 359 deployment is a mistake in the schedules and will be corrected, quoting an unamed Mh official It sure looks like it. F have been zeroed out. I can't say I am surprised tho. August through October is hardly peak-travel season to/from NZ. "Let's splurge on a F class ticket and see wind-battered island" - says no one ever. Edited December 11, 2017 by Craig
