Y. J. Foo 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2005 Wish I could aboard a commercial plane which is flying inverted... . . . . . . . . . Just kidding...Don't think other pax will like it... BTW how to make that possible?
TW Teo 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2005 In my understanding, in order to maintain inverted flight, the angle of attack would have to be manipulated to sustain lift. This of course is more difficult to do for airliners as the aerofoil is not symmetrical like acrobatic planes. Airliners are able to do a 1G barrelroll if the onboard computers allows it, but I doubt sustained inverted flight is possible as the fuel system is not designed for such a maneuver. The test pilot actually fly that aircraft inverted. He did mantain it at 1G. Ego trip i guess... Got some "ceramah" from boeing top level after that ..
