Loh Wilson 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2008 Since the front seat have most of the instrument, what is the role of the back seat pilot ? Judging from the picture, both seat should be having the control of the plane, am I right ?
kianhong 0 Report post Posted October 31, 2008 Thanks guys. Though the air temperature reported only at 20C with some strong wind, it was especially warm standing beside the 'team'. No... Baim. No blood coming out of my nose. LOL Since the front seat have most of the instrument, what is the role of the back seat pilot ? Judging from the picture, both seat should be having the control of the plane, am I right ? Affirm. Pilatus PC-9 is a military trainer with tandem seats, so I supposed they have the same instruments in the front and the back. I saw no different.

MIR 2 Report post Posted November 1, 2008 The pilots participating in the Red Bull Air race World Series need to navigate a predetermined aerial racetrack, defined by Air Gates (20-meters tall air filled pylons) in the correct pattern in the fastest time possible. Any misconduct by the race pilots, such as departure from track, any form of dangerous flying or failure to execute the required flying pattern, results in disqualification. Minor mistakes are punished by penalty seconds. The Racetrack.. Race pilots need to maneuver their plane between the Air Gates. The distance between the pylons of an air gate is about 10 meters. A race plane's wingspan is about 8 meters. Here are some shots of today's qualifying round. The Bolkow filming the race. Thanks for viewing !!
