Malaysia Airlines Website New Look

Recommended Posts

tengkuazmil @sanjaythaker Thanks for the feedback! Can you provide some suggestions?

I would like to have the ability to select the departure and arrival airports by entering the IATA airport code. Currently, one has to enter the names of the departure and arrival cities.

With all due respect, that would be what is expected from a PR personnel trying to buy time, not the CEO

He tweets like a clueless CEO.. probably the result of years of emphasis on kulitfication in our GLCs...

The reversed pics are so annoying! Apart from safety and their usual duties - image is so important for the Malaysian girls....

MAS Holidays website clearly used a photoshopped image of Lonely Planet guide books. Doesn't copyright infringement mean anything?!

Any more grouses about the new website? As of now, the booking engine is now fully functional.

Not yet!

I just tried to make a booking from Sydney to Paris and it keeps sending me to the AU maintenance page! Seriously, it's now 2 weeks. I can't believe this is not a priority. I can't even begin to imagine the lost revenue as a result of this website not working properly. AK must be having a pretty good laugh over this.

Maybe it has been decided that there are not enough people wanting to go SYD-CDG to warrant expense of fixing up that bit of the site ? :p

Furthermore, system of priority at MAS is ..... well, probably not very high up on priority list :D

Really? I tried making several booking from SYD to CDG vv and a few other bookings from different Australian airports to EU without any trouble at all. It went smoothly on my end.

At which stage of the booking were you have problems, Josh? Did it occur while you were trying to make the payment or in the earlier stages?

It's probably an image from a photo library where they've paid for it.

LOL! Thanks for that, BC. I just can't believe that fixing up the booking engine on the site is not a priority! Q2 bookings must really be suffering as a result of this.

Josh is referring to the Australian site http://www.malaysiaairlines.com/au/en.html each time of which will automatically lead to this page http://www.malaysiaairlines.com/maintenance Of course a simple solution is to make the booking from Malaysia page http://www.malaysiaairlines.com/my/en.html, but what's the point of having multiple pages for different countries if it can't be used?

I tried making the bookings from the Malaysian site and it still didn't work. :pardon:

I assessed and try to book via Malaysia page. It still goes back to the Splash Welcome page everytime I press Submit on the main booking page.

I assessed it in Australia

Using Mac

Browsers: Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. All don't work.

Any successes everyone else?

I can't believe this still hasn't been fixed! It's been over 2 weeks now! I'm getting really sick of seeing that AU-maintenance page. <_>

It's probably not part of their KPI to fix their website ASAP.. or maybe they are just incompetent.

josh,

just call the MH callcenter lah. can easily book tickets that way yes?

Looks like I'm going to have to. The website's still not working properly for bookings. I just don't want to be on hold for a long time. It's so much easier doing it online.

Or just take a better airline!

:o

I really enjoy flying with MH. I'm travelling with a friend to Europe at the end of the year and she can't afford to fly in C, so I'll have to fly in Y with her instead. MH's Y is the best out there in terms of seat comfort. The seats are cushioned with lumbar support and good recline, and there's plenty of legroom for me to stretch out completely. I wouldn't be able to tolerate SQ's awful sliding seats on such a long trip!

What about EK, EY, VS, CX, QF, BA, TG?

The sliding seats are CX's.

Try TG if you want the legroom, and if width is not an issue, EK has good legroom too.

What about EK, EY, VS, CX, QF, BA, TG?

Flying EK and EY means transiting through the Middle East, which I don't want to do.

Going with VS and CX menas going through HKG, which I also don't want to do.

QF and BA will go through BKK, SIN or HKG and I'm not keen on but I don't like flying longhaul with QF or BA.

TG is a viable alternative but that means going through BKK and I am not a fan of that airport!

I like flying through KUL because I always enjoy stopping over on the way back.

SQ also has those sliding seats but I think they're slightly better designed compared to the ones on CX. I found the SQ ones really hard and uncomfortable on long flights.

For the SQ "sliding seats", did you mean the seats do recline like normal seats but when they recline, the bottom cushion will slide forward? TG's 777-200ER are equipped with such seats.

Hope MH will consider your preference on ‘old fashion’ cushion before choosing seats for A380 and A33E.
