Maswings F50 incident

Recommended Posts

Hello all, I've just went through a local chinese newspaper in Sarawak, the 诗华日报。The front page is a Maswings Fokker 50 landed in Sibu airport without front gear, apparently they landed with their belly.

All 26 people onboard including crews were safe.

It was a flight originating from BKI to KCH, I believe they transit in SBW. The incident was 8am something yesterday.

I find no news online about it though, please share if you've found one.

Is there a picture of it in the papers, or was it just a description by reporters?

(you know how newspapers will go from a blown tyre to a belly landing.)

Yes there is a photo showing the unfortunate F50, apparently there is a problem with their front landing gear.

Desmond, the one you mentioned was in BKI and AK, but what I got is in SBW and MasWings.

Did you go to the airport and see if the F50 still there?

It was 9m-mgj. Pilot had tried with alternate landing gear extension but somehow the nose gear door stucked in closed position. Reason still unknown.

should be still in sibu as the the belly would be badly damage. No problem for high wing aircraft. Landing with low speed not as worse as jet aircraft.

The bright side is no casualties reported so far :)

Well, with the exception of Dutch pride of course ! ;)

A round of applause to the flying crew perhaps ? :good: :clapping:

OMG Thanks Robin for the pic. But I wonder why got 2 wheels? One near the tip of the nose and one almost near the front left door.

It's not the wheel of the a/c. It is something that is used to support the front part of the a/c.
