Rozhan 0 Report post Posted July 7, 2005 MAS has announced the following, quoted from their website: 7 Jul, 2005 Malaysia Airlines’ Revised Fuel Surcharge In view of the steep escalation of jet fuel prices, which has hit the USD70 per barrel levels, airlines worldwide have taken further measures to mitigate this increase to cope with the escalating cost, which include adjusting the fuel surcharge rates. Similarly, Malaysia Airlines is compelled to revise the fuel surcharge rates which are for international travel :- • Travel between Malaysia to Europe, Australia & New Zealand, North & South America, Middle-East and Africa - from RM76 (USD20) to RM106 (USD28) per sector; • Travel between Malaysia to Asia, including Singapore and Brunei – from RM38 (USD10) to RM53 (USD14) per sector. Effective Date • The revised surcharge is applicable for tickets issued on/after 15 July 2005, for travel on/after 15 July 2005; • The surcharge will be collected at the point of ticketing.
